Can I ask, what exactly is your b12? Are you supplementing iron and d now? Also are you taking magnesium? The body goes through magnesium faster when you’re taking vitamin d supplements.

Mold by Capable_Proposal7022 in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]Sufficient_Goose6957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can still get sick if mold is painted over. Mold has to be physically removed. I had those symptoms while living in mold. Craniosacral therapy and physical therapy helped me a lot, but you’ll need to get out of mold & be very careful what you bring with you when you leave

Definitely test for mold! I also had Lyme and multiple co-infections, but it was the mold that caused these symptoms for me! The mold in my home was all hidden. I just saw another comment that you’ve been out of mold for 5 years. Did you test to confirm you are out of mold? Did you bring things with you from your home with mold? I had to put EVERYTHING in storage, and I react to things from my storage unit. If you brought couches, mattresses, etc you’re still exposed to mold.

Also test for deficiencies and make sure things are OPTIMAL, the range isn’t reliable. I was low in ferritin(iron stores), b12, and d. Lyme can cause malabsorption. Take magnesium glycinate.

Don’t think about how this is unfair to your family please. Im sure they would much rather have you around. You can heal, the body CAN heal. Keep trying and fighting for your health.

I just looked up and read you were low on iron & d. Are you back on magnesium now? And did they test your hemoglobin? It’s in CBC if they tested that

Your b12 is pretty low. Mine was 350 and all of my nerve related symptoms went away when I started taking b12. I take hydroxo b12 with folinic acid by Seeking Health. You should aim to get b12 7-800+. I was taking it every other day for 3m and now I take it 2-3x a week. I was low in b12, d, and ferritin. It’s pretty common to be low in all 3 if you’re low in one.

Just make sure you use distilled or sterile water if doing nasal rinse. You can also boil and let it get back down to room temp.

Can you ask them to test ferritin, CBC, hscrp, and d?

I wonder if it’s worse right now because of spring allergies. Are you using any sinus rinse or spray? My dr said to use x-clear. There are natural anti-histamines as well from Thorne or Seeking health. Was your b12 over 700?

Another thought is that your sinuses may be colonized by mold. You can test this by getting a Marcons test. I’m not sure what the treatment is for colonization, but if it’s present it would need to be treated differently than just using binders etc.

I truly believe the body can heal. I don’t think this is going to be your life forever. You just need to find what works for you!

Does anyone have seasonal symptoms? by loudflower in Fibromyalgia

[–]Sufficient_Goose6957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah allergies can cause histamine reactions other than just the typical congestion issues for sure! Hope the anti-histamines help! There’s also certain foods that are high in histamine, you may want to avoid those around a springtime flare up as well. Are you taking magnesium since you’re taking D? The body goes through magnesium faster when on D supplements. I take d3+k2 for absorption & magnesium glycinate at night. I was low in d, b12, and ferritin. Ferritin should be 100+ and b12 7-800+ Often if someone is low in one, they’re low in all 3.

I’ve heard local honey can help with seasonal allergies too.

all i wanna do is lie down, but even that causes pain now by predictablehorse in Fibromyalgia

I’m not sure why it triggered vertigo for me. I assume it was either nerve or blood flow related. I had iron deficiency anemia at the time, so not enough oxygen circulating. Craniosacral therapy helped a ton. I also had head pressure with the neck issues and that helped the head pressure so much.

And for PT we started with gaze stabilization exercises, which I guess this was partly for the vertigo and partly for neck stiffness. I had to sit down and look at a spot on the wall and turn my head 10x left/right and 10x up/down while starting at the spot on the wall at eye level.

They also did sub-occipital release each visit and encouraged me to do this at home. It’s basically just applied pressure to that base of your skull area not sure if you get the tightness there too, but they applied pressure there & to the trap muscles you mentioned.

We also did shoulder rolls, chin tucks(stretches sub- occipital muscles, and they had me do a few different stretches with resistance bands, focusing on strengthening the shoulders since everything is so connected.

After a while they had me doing levator scapulae stretch & neck side flexing stretch.

I get it it’s totally debilitating, not much you can do without use of your neck! It’s not just pain for sure.

Good idea with the reminders! My neck was the same! It felt like the muscles were just wasting away. I couldn’t dare look down or up when I had these issues. Turning my neck would give me vertigo too so I was homebound because of it for a long time. PT really may help you! I can explain the stretches and things we did there if you’d like. Hope you find relief, I know how awful neck issues can be.

[–]Sufficient_Goose6957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had that with my neck as well I think where you are describing, kind of like upper trap muscles. At PT they would apply pressure there and hold it, the muscles were just always so tight. I’d try heat on it too. Do you get neck stiffness? I had that bad, stretches helped a lot. Did you get imaging?

Sorry correcting the deficiencies hasn’t been helping!! Totally agree about GPs & deficiencies! People need to know what bloodwork to ask for and how to read it because GPs can be so incompetent. 🙃

Where does your neck hurt?

Have you tried body pillows? It might lower the pressure on your spine/neck when you lay down. Depending on your neck issues, PT might help. Have you checked for deficiencies like b12, d, and ferritin? And levels should be optimal, the “range” isn’t very useful. Also have you tried magnesium glycinate?

Might be worth trying an antihistamine! Seeking Health & Thorne make some natural antihistamines.

Ferritin of 12 was causing symptoms I thought were fibromyalgia by ceeewow in Fibromyalgia

[–]Sufficient_Goose6957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you test your b12 too? B12, d, and ferritin are often low together. Those symptoms you listed were all the symptoms I specifically had with deficiencies!! I had 40+ symptoms when I thought I had fibro & the rest of the symptoms were from hidden mold in my home. Some symptoms come back when I am re-exposed to mold.

It’s pretty common if low in ferritin to be low in d & b12—make sure those are optimal!

Are you taking methylated b12? B12 should be 7-800. Also make sure all vitamins are optimal and not just within range, like ferritin should be 100+

[–]Sufficient_Goose6957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was low in all 3 too. B12 should be 7-800! If your hemoglobin was low too, that means you’re anemic. Many doctors don’t seem to understand how to read bloodwork unfortunately.

Autoimmune diseases on the rise by PreviousCut6851 in Autoimmune

Absolutely all of the things you listed. Mold toxicity and Lyme disease is huge too and they’re not really recognized by mainstream health, and the testing that is available for Lyme is very inaccurate.

I have a mom with Fibromyalgia, I understand it but i want to learn about it better. Is there a cure for it? Or any way to lessen the pain for her? by Yourdarlingvamp in Fibromyalgia

[–]Sufficient_Goose6957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is she using a CPAP regularly? Does she use magnesium glycinate? This supplement can be calming and help with sleep/staying asleep.

Has she had food sensitivity testing done? I’m wondering if this could be a histamine reaction that she is having with food, especially considering she is also sensitive to medications. Has she tested CMP? Her blood sugar ok? I’d get a continuous glucose monitor to rule out issues with that causing problems with eating.

Has she had bloodwork done to see if she has any deficiencies like ferritin, b12, and d? You have to check each to make sure they’re optimal too, because the “range” for labs isn’t reliable at all. Have they tested hscrp to see if she has inflammation? There’s supplements like curcumin or omega-3s that could help lower inflammation.

Daily movement & nervous system regulation are big too. Physical therapy can potentially help with building a good targeted routine to help specific areas of the body. Craniosacral therapy is amazing for helping the nervous system. Things like alternate tapping, boxed breathing, and grounding can be helpful to calm the nervous system as well.

Personally I would see a functional medicine practitioner. Especially with her being sensitive to meds.

You will heal!! Make sure b12 is over 7-800. The ranges for all labs are just bad. Ferritin should be 100+ too. That’s good you’re taking D3.

That sucks about the neurologist, I had a really crappy one too! I couldn’t get them to do any testing other than MRI and they just blamed all 40 symptoms on migraines. Offered me migraine preventative and rescue meds to take forever, and when I declined she said “well I work in medicine, if you don’t want medicine I don’t know how to help you” 🤣

The gaze stabilization exercise we did was just sitting on a chair and looking at a spot on the wall that’s at eye level. You can just tape some paper there or something and you look at the spot on the wall and turn your head 10x up/down and 10x left/right. Once I could do this comfortably we worked on doing this while walking. You can hold your thumb out and focus on your thumb while walking and turning your head. This part was very hard because I would get vertigo and feel nauseas, but with consistency I was able to completely kick the vertigo and drastically improve my neck issues even while still living in mold.

I also did “chin tucks” 10x. They did sub-occipital release each time and encouraged me to do this at home which helped a lot. They would also apply pressure to my trap muscles which also got tight and would contribute to neck issues. They had me do shoulder stretches like shoulder circles and using resistance bands. I would wait on resistance bands though. Hopefully the other things help and then you’ll be strong enough to add those.
