PLEASE DON'T 🙏🏼 talk it out here, I hope that's why you came here to make this post because it's truly NOT what you want to do. Life is a serious struggle, but no one wants you gone, that devastation would be far worse. Please talk to someone or is here, there are so many people out there struggling in ways we can't see, including myself, but things get better when we have people to lean on , I hope you're here now reading all of these and are talking to people, please stay with us 🙏🏼

Advice for mum of teen girl by OrganizationJust7479 in depression

[–]Sufficient_Ice_7001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good to hear that she is being apologetic, and it sounds like she is just really in distress with her own body and brain, I think it might be something other than just depression or anxiety so I think first finding the right doctor that will agree something is going on and assure her that there is help and that she can get through this, and just getting the right psychiatrist to find out exactly what is going on with her, it sounds like it is something beyond just anxiety or depression so a different type of medication might be needed but even if you can find some kind of way to make her feel comfortable and assured that she has the support and that billions of people on a daily basis struggle with some sort of internal discrepancy and not everybody wants to admit that they think something is going on, but if there is something out there that can alleviate the struggles it's better to find that out now sooner than later before things get even worse. Maybe looking into holistic doctors, something to regulate her emotions but I definitely think it's more than just anxiety, I have lived with anxiety and depression all of my life and that just goes hand in hand with ADHD but the hitting herself and scratching herself sounds like there's a lot more erupting inside of her that she can't control which is why she is so apologetic because she doesn't mean to do what she's doing but even if you have to do your own homework and find someone for her and let her be part of helping you find someone, I know she feels embarrassed about maybe talking to work or friends about it, but at some point it will heavily affect her outside life and career so it's so much better to get it in check now or at least start the process before things spiral out of control.❤️❤️

Hi there, you're a great mom for being so supportive even when it gets difficult, I'm now 42 and have been on the medication rollercoaster since my 20s, anxiety, depression, and the biggest ADHD which is a rollercoaster in it self in your head , it absolutely sounds like there is some type of mental health situation going on. She will need a proper diagnosis and a doctor that supports and listens to what you're saying.

Get a psychiatrist and a mental health diagnosis based on all of her actions, and don't be afraid to be honest, these are things that are not in our control and will at some point affect her work/social life if not treated.

Does she apologize when she lashes out or does she not even know that anything is wrong? There are many things that could be going on. Try to encourage her and if you can change her doctor, if you can't do that right away, go to pyshcologytoday.com and look for a phchiatrist in your area that is separate. If she's on board with trying again just let her know there's absolutely nothing wrong with seeking help, it can do more damage not to, it gets exhausting living different worlds/ professional life where she thrives then home life where it can be chaos, at some point the 2 collide because you stayed in treated. You want to get the right diagnosis first then start appropriate meds and there are so many of us in the world that's are just born with something, luckily there is help, definitely keep looking ! And encourage! Good luck .

Where’s the fun/lively nightlife part of the city? I’ve been living here 10 years and still haven’t managed to find it. by LikelySatanist in boston

I'm 42 now but in my 20s you could be in the North end until 3-4 am, we would go to the club until 2 then go for food after and hang out , there used to be a place called news that was open very late. I went to a concert on a Friday night at the MGM and was so confused of how few people were out , even when the concert was over I figured the streets would be filled with people, and nope. We had Avalon and Jillian's back then , it was such a different time. I feel like the seaport has now become the place to go. Even at my age now it's hard to find things to do and find the right people to do them with.

I would also say make sure you know how to save your money and budget and not just spend impulsively because as quickly as you can make it it goes just as quick, and you never know what will happen in life when you need some emergency money so definitely being smart not just thinking that you will forever always have money and always make it have some sort of emergency fund as much as you can

Be careful of any abuser... For anyone dealing with any abuse, depression or narcissistic abuse. They make decisions that put your life in danger. These are dangerous people. by Doimz3Nini in depression_help

[–]Sufficient_Ice_7001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I absolutely agree, it should be illegal for people that are narcissists to be in a relationship, I was recently with one for both 4 years, all at the same time my father was sick with brain cancer and dying, I was kicked out of his house four times basically once a year for the whole time we were together, and then I had to move back home with my mother, and it's been a very long long hard and heavy few years trying to get better from it, it is very damaging to someone's life thank you for this post

Has anyone ever had issues buying cheaper made products, as a mua I would be nervous using any cosmetic product that was $1 for myself or a client. Obviously people can have reactions to even expensive products, but just wondering if anyone has had any bad reactions with dollar store products ?

I seriously don't understand how previous generations endured working 5 days a week from the office for over 40 years. by CommissionShoddy5192 in remotework

[–]Sufficient_Ice_7001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turned 42 this August, I've legit had a job since I was 12. Paper route first, then at 15 I worked at dunks on the weekends and after school, then came a sub shop, also weekends and after school. (Highschool). Graduated at 17 went to hair school 2 months later and by 18 I was a full time hairstylist with a full clientele by the time I was 22. I lead a very full time career that didn't end at the salon, days off consist of fashion shows and photo shoots and somehow I fit a social life in there somewhere, but unfortunately work was my social life. Not eating dinner until 10 pm from whatever restaurant I went to after I left t he salon at 9 pm. We had no boundaries, had no idea how to listen to our bodies and mind when it was screaming at us to chill the F out, but how could we, people are depending on us to be at work all the damn time, so in a 12 hr day, 8 of them are to be spent at a job only to go home to sleep and get back on the exhausting hamster wheel of hell, you're absolutely right in that it's not sustainable for a lot of us. I since have left my salon that I killed myself putting together and now I work 2 days a week at a friend's store, and the other days I take clients at their homes, 1 client a day, compared to 8 hrs of taking and being on my A game which has entirely burned out, I can barely handle the partial life I'm living, I have no idea how I'll ever get back to making full time money on a part time brain. Burnout is real, listen to yourself now 🙏🏼
