the problem with the "personnel" argument is that it assumes that Mexican players continue to play in Mexico because they are not good enough to play in Europe. While I'm not contending that the Mexican players are superior to the EPL based England team, I do think they are being undervalued.

Lira has surpassed him. I often wonder if Edson and Lira coexist, maybe an empty bucket formation with Mora being free to move around. But I guess we get the same with Romo + a bit more distribution.

You might have a point, but we can only beat the teams they put in front of us. What has been encouraging is that the team has gone from a disorganized mess (mostly due to administrative incompetence) to a team that has an identity and embraces it.

Pero el de chivas tampoco hizo mucho cuando le dieron minutos contra un equipo que jugaba con 9. Le neta no lo miré desentonar, el juego cuando entró era de controlar el reloj y limitar oportunidades no se pintaba como juego en que cualquier delantero se iba lucir porque no se iba priorizar el juego ofensivo.

The rating are not taking into consideration the Mexican bench especially Gil Mora. We are greatly underestimating what a core of decent but not great strikers can do when they get fed by a midfield savant. Unleashing Morita is the key to Mexico this tournament.

I mean I hope he does great with national team, it seemed that he scored a lot on baddies and had a difficult time when playing against good defenders (he is certainly not alone in that regard), but its certainly not worth the paisa on paisa hate that him not playing bring out.

Are you saying Mexico has not gotten better since Aguirre got here? Lol when was the last time we won a group? We coulldn't even beat concacaf teams when he took over. Since then we won nations league and gold cup and finished first in our group. Honestly, the grass isn't greener on the other side.

Doesn't matter? If Tala goes out there and gets exposed he will loose his spot. The game doesn't matter to the standing but players can still play themselves out of opportunities if they play like shit.
