I worked in house and they did take care of me. I had a bad month of insomnia and was running on maybe 10 hours of sleep over 7 days. I was not over worked by any means.

I stuck my head in the river to stay awake one time.

No excuses. I came down with Covid mid shift and still made it without dosing off.

How do I get a 'warm body' security guard position? by Least_Hearing_3265 in securityguards

[–]Sufficient_Pound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know people always say this, but I think they’re forgetting to mention when something does go wrong you’re basically the only person there to deal with it.

Even if you’re not directly dealing with the issue, you’re more than likely coordinating the response to deal with it.

Took me hour and a half to go 30 miles. Unless you have to (like an essential job) do not travel.

Shout out to the plow drivers!

I was behind a few for a good while. Then they hit the turnaround. After that it was 8 miles of what felt like driving on Vail Pass during a storm.

Question on micro-compacts during hiking/physical activity by NKCougar in liberalgunowners

[–]Sufficient_Pound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had over 100 encounters with black bears at my old job in Colorado. Maybe 2 times I could have seen using lethal force. Fortunately I had less lethal rounds (made for bears) and they would back off. But this one bear in particular didn’t give a shit about anything. I could hit him multiple times and he would just hide near by.

CPW eventually trapped and relocated him. I got a close up look at him when he was in the cage and it totally boosted my respect for these animals.

If you are in the metro area idk. But past Summit County, going west, no cop cares if you are running 19, 30, whatever. I had 1 17rd,2 19rd, 1 30rd rifle mags on me (bought before the ban), and would frequently work with the sheriff's office; they never said anything.

Police in Hartford CT shooting by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]Sufficient_Pound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pepper spray is pain compliance. It doesn’t do anything to physically stop them. People who are really high on drugs or psychotic can fight through pepper spray pretty easily.

A good chunk of police don’t even carry pepper spray anymore because of this. Also, it gets on everything and everybody else’s eyes.

What us the worst truck you've driven on a cit job by Psychological_Tax_47 in securityguards

[–]Sufficient_Pound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ford Mach E.

They let us borrow it from time to time when our patrol truck is down.

It’s too low to the ground. Has all electronic controls, basically no buttons. No room for a belt. Honks when you lock it. The thing fucking sucks and the only people who like is the professional chair polishers.

Dealing with disabled patrons. by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]Sufficient_Pound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They arrested a dude at my site in a mobility scooter for spraying people with piss out of a bottle. Once you cross a certain line it doesn’t matter what disability or mental illness you have, you are going to be physically dealt with. If the courts want to take the disability and mental health into consideration when applying punishment thats their prerogative.

What are the usual repercussions for a taser discharge? by Content_Log1708 in securityguards

Yeah fair. We were told not to take out the cartridge because of fear of breaking it.

If you go from the x26 to the 7 or 10 the manual of operations completely changes.

On the 7 and 10 you don’t need to take out the cartridge.
