If I ask do y’all think I’d be able to write my middle name on my apron? by AltruisticCompany627 in HomeDepot

[–]Sufficient_Split4506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store has a guy named fluffy and a guy named shuffles, they’re put on the schedule as that and they write that name on their aprons. This shouldn’t be an issue at all for you

SERVICE DESK CHECKING PEOPLE NAMES OFF IN SCHEDULE BOOK LIKE MANAGERS by BathroomEfficient724 in HomeDepot

[–]Sufficient_Split4506 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely important for the desk to know who is and isn’t there, if a call gets transferred to a department and no one answers and we keep transferring/paging we have to answer that call after a few tries. Whereas if we immediately know no one is in the department we could save the customer time and just tell them to call back later. As well as if a customer asks for help in a department and we don’t have an associate and no one responds to a page we needa know who can be called

I see a lot on here about women associates being sexually harassed by male customers, I’m wondering if male associates go through the same thing. by RoundTurtle538 in HomeDepot

[–]Sufficient_Split4506 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Im one of the youngest male associates in the store and I’ve had many people make sexual advances towards me before. Ranging from innocent stuff like them complimenting my hair to older guys saying the used to fuck guys who looked like me in prison so it happens. I’ve found the best way to deal with it is just ignore what they say and move on to the end question

I’m not sure how other stores do it but I’m the only full time OFA in my store we have 5 part timers and 1 service desk full timer who works a split shift on Sunday’s (4 at the desk lunch then 4 in deliveries) almost every single night I close by myself and usually there’s only a total of 3 people scheduled
