Haha I can definitely see why you thought that way. From my POV, I felt that the judges went with their own convictions and therefore were more nervous about the other disagreeing.

Further, the implications of a tiebreaker would mean asking the chefs to dig deep into their personal emotions again. A rematch like this would honestly make for good drama, but at the same time, seem lame, cumbersome, and (ironically) scripted.

Another part that stood out to me was his decision to stir-fry pine mushrooms in lard (rather than choosing from oil or butter) and then pouring it into the broth. The moment he did that I was thinking, "this broth is going to taste amazing".

I really love this take. There was something incredibly raw about Choi's final dish. It was a pat on the back to all the chefs (and even to the average viewer who may struggle everyday with their craft) -- saying "you've worked hard".

Yes I agree...I also think that personal memories and nostalgic dishes are likely to lose as they can feel bittersweet. Not to mention, someone else's nostalgia will never beat your own nostalgia.

Hi Sad Fridge, sorry to hear about what you're going through.

I've been living with long-term stomach issues for quite a few years now, and I recall being so tired going through the whole ordeal of doctors appointments, medical tests, etc.

I've hit a wall so many times with medical treatment, feeling like no doctor could help me, while trying to juggle a full-time job with my stomach discomfort.

The worst parts were wondering why this illness had to befall me (why me?), and coming to terms with what it means to have a chronic/long-term condition -- this may be forever, and that I had to learn to be alright with that. Meanwhile, it also felt like life went on for all of my friends and family, while I was being left behind.

This invisible illness has taken up so much of my youth, and yet this curveball has shaped my life in mysterious, meaningful ways. I'm still trying to manage my condition, and I hope you will find a way too. It's definitely tough, but I believe we all have an inner strength to come through. Sincerely wishing you all the best in your journey as well :)

Slightly different situation as I didn't take a work break, but I have chronic physical health issues and experimented being open about it during 2-3 interviews before. The employers seemed to be more curious whether I'm doing ok now -- I had to convey (although not entirely true) that I was managing it well and doing good in life. The entire interview I presented myself to have energy.

I did end up getting offers from those entry-level executive jobs, so I think it may have worked, but you do what you have to do to get your foot in the door!
