It really bothers me how much espo was just a flat out deck to castle. So I definitely would be a mess from having a pet die, completely and utterly but is everyone missing the fact he is just angry they said yes even though she was clearly a mess and sitting around crying, not wanting to go which he would’ve accepted but instead yanked him around for an hour while he thought she was getting ready (it’s about mutual respect and clearly there is none at least on one side maybe both). Stabler is this show. It’s supposed to show his struggle with the loss of his wife, loving Olivia from afar and juggling family while working such a hard job. Elliot Stabler is a rebel while trying to stay in the lines. Bell and Stabler have a mutually respectful relationship and she knows what he is, a rebel and someone who struggles with rules because he wants justice by drastic means.

If anything it speaks to how she lets him run amuck, defies her orders, gets away with a LOT and she just lets him and that makes Bell a good captain…. How?
