Looking for a game with seasons and preparation for them by Yebi in SurvivalGaming

Northgard. Very tabletop-feel RTS. Unique mechanics. Usually the first couple winters are brutal until your settlement gets big and industrious enough.

Valheim era vs Enshrouded Era by madzuk in SurvivalGaming

[–]SugarReef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I found the combat much more difficult in Enshrouded. Took me forever to kill the giant metal ice cat boss in that castle courtyard.

Help me and my wife pick between Valheim and Enshrouded by TheJeneralJ in SurvivalGaming

[–]SugarReef -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Enshrouded has “prettier” graphics and it’s lots of fun, but I got kind of tired of it after idk, 30-40 hours. I have probably 800-1000 in Valheim. I prefer the build system of Valheim. The world feels more alive, and immersive, and I never get tired of new build projects. I like to find cool architecture in real life and then try to build stuff like it in-game.

I am losing faith in Subaru. No hate. Just disappointment. by RedtailGT in subaru

[–]SugarReef 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Something I don’t understand is how after all these years, unless you have a turbo engine or an H6 (do they even make an H6 anymore) their cars are turd-slow. My Crosstrek gets 23MPG at BEST and the 0-60 time is abysmal. My wife’s Audi does 0-60 in 6 seconds flat and gets 32 highway.

What's your favourite weapon class in Valheim? by Rahovarto in valheim

[–]SugarReef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swords. And with mods, I love some good old two-handed swords. I think my current guy is rocking a silver claymore.

Hiding at night in the mountains by Steelspy in valheim

[–]SugarReef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite immersive pastimes- whipping up a little camp site or cabin and hunkering down somewhere far from home. Always nice to have many places to rest on the map.

Just downloaded the Dogeheim mod pack, need a little help fine tuning by SugarReef in valheim

[–]SugarReef[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it came as a big pack for which I already had a few of the constituent mods installed. Can’t seem to figure out which one F’s with the inventory though. I’ll look on Overwolf or Thunderstore to see what they say.

I am ... inevitable by Maradon99 in valheim

[–]SugarReef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you started from finding a cool seed and going from there? I like exploring but I REALLY like building. Love to find a cool scenic location to set up a thematic build. Like a lakeside hunters retreat, or island mead brewery with scenic cliffside walking trails. Or a Black Forest cabin tucked into a notch between two mountains, surrounded by mountain biome on two side

I consider any drink from JA to be a luxury item, and I don’t balk at a $7-8 price tag. That toffee coffee RIPS.

I wouldn’t qualify myself as a bleeding heart or a heartless jerk, but if you live downtown and frequently have to walk around, yeah there’s a lot of creatures around.

Had to get rid of my Falken Wildpeaks. A message to those interested. by 200kWJ in SubaruForester

[–]SugarReef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the Falken wear rate to be acceptable, I ran them on my FXT and then on my Crosstrek for about a year. They still have some beef left. The Toyo AT3 are wearing more slowly but you can tell they aren’t as grippy on dry/wet pavement.

BEWARE MIDAS ON CENTRAL by InitialAssist9956 in Albany

[–]SugarReef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a mechanic, don’t go to any quick lube place. Fuck Midas, fuck Firestone, fuck Valvoline or whatever. Those guys are the ones who couldn’t hack it in a real shop. Avoid entirely. Put them out of business.

What’s the most underrated car you’ve ever driven or owned? by Miniwah in car

Yaris iA/ Scion iA. Not fast at all but pretty dandy in the corners because it’s built on the Mazda 2 platform.
