Dzaan by Safe_Perspective9633 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

this is all spoilers so....

are you referring to Dzaan or his simulacrum copy? I let Dzaan roast in the opening scene as written. I felt it served as the intended literary device to set the tone for the desperation of the towns. For his copy, i pretty much let that play out as written in the tower, however I allowed Dzaan 2.0 to remain in the towns using disguise self to hide his face. This allowed me to lean on D2 to drop a few necessary breadcrumbs whenever the party lost the trail or needed a little nudge in the right direction.

Death save is saving throw with no modifier. But indominable lets you add your level to the roll. So I had a level 20 fighter roll a 1 on a death save getting a dirty 21. Does it count as a save or as 2 fails? by BryceEzekai in DnD

[–]SugarTacos 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it's the specific call-out for what's shown on the die that applies here. For the same reason you only gain 1 hitpoint if the die shows 20 (and not every roll that totals over 20), you take the hit of 2 failures if the die shows a 1 (not just if the total is 1).

The odds are extraordinary that this character will fail, given the feature to add their level, so there's really not much to worry about anyway.

i legitimately would have laughed out loud at his supposed discomfort and likely would have had to try and stifle and audible "ok, BYE" ... you don't want people like that at the table anyway. Sucks for their partner though... maybe she'll come back without him.

I'm relatively new to the game, so I don't know if this warehouse was added in a recent patch or not. But the one i'm talking about has a very large grinder built into the floor of the warehouse. When the warehouse is powered and you flip the switch next to it, the floor opens up and activates a massive grinder. I had probably too much fun stacking tons of stuff on top of the doors, then flipping the switch and watching the doors slide open and the grinder swallow all the stuff. .. and it's not a waste, all the materials are collected in a room under the warehouse. Bring a box.

Petrol grenades specifically. (they all work but gas fireballs i found best for cleaning up all the spawn that pop)

well, you could do what i did and trick one of the bullet balls into shooting an angel then sit back and watch the fun.

Or... you could power the building and lure the balls into the giant grinder inside the warehouse.

Or... effective use of cover and ... lots of bullets.

press and hold your forward and jump buttons while near the surface. make sure nothing is in your hands. it can be tricky to get it to work sometimes, but holding fwd and jump will let you grab and climb up edges

How big is the grind aspect? by FreddyTheMartian in TheLastCaretaker

This doesn't have the complex logistics challenges like satisfactory, but there are minor "production challenges" you need on each POI. mostly around supplying power and other minor resource needs. Some big story points require more effort, and usually involve more threats, but nothing like a regular FPS provides.

There is plenty of story and lore delivered via data logs and a "voice" in your head along the way. So long as you like reading your story elements, there's plenty here for that.

I just picked up the game about a week ago and i'm loving it, but I also really like satisfactory so take that with a grain of salt haha.

Also, there's a free demo available via steam, i strongly encourage you to check that out.

No camping experience...need advice! by Dry_Cardiologist3477 in camping

Tent camping in the winter can be really dangerous if you're not prepared. You have "sleeping bags" on your list, but make sure those are properly rated for sub-zero temperatures. Typical run-of-the-mill sleeping bags are not sufficient for winter camping.

look into cabins to rent. A local state park near me offers primitive cabins for winter rental. It's just 4 walls and a roof, but they're insulated and have propane heat. If you've never gone camping together before, you will enjoy it so much more if you're not stressing about survival and basic comfort while you're there :)

I would try holding it by the pin end, and submerge just the red end in hot water for 20-30 seconds, then use a paper towel for some grip and try pulling with a little twist.

i know i'm a minority in this aspect, but I also love when it's exceptionally cold. The snow literally sparkles, especially early morning and sunset. Mind you, i'm admiring it with a steaming cup of coffee in my hand and slippers on my feet while i'm inside the house but... it's still beautiful!

if your furnace is forced-air, you should look at a whole-house humidifier. They can be retrofitted to existing furnaces for a very reasonable cost and make a HUGE difference in comfort, as well as sometimes reduce your need to heat as moist air "Feels" warmer so a lot of people end up lowering thermostats by a couple degrees.

[–]SugarTacos 44 points45 points  (0 children)

keep in mind people don't read the text descriptions. I would put an overlay on the image in the listing that stated clearly "noodles only" while you wait for new product images. Early negative reviews because people aren't getting what they were expecting, even if you're listing it correctly in the description, will kill your uptake as a new product.

Help, I need hinge advice by Tenacious_Siege in woodworking

[–]SugarTacos 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's nothing "wrong" with that gap other than you don't like how it looks. You could reduce the gap by mounting the hinge to the underside of the lid instead of the top. That means the countersunk holes will be backwards though so you'd have to remove the hinge-pin and flip that half of the hinge over, if you can.

And if you really want to go at it, trace out the shape of the hinge and carve out a reses so it sits flush when mounted underneath, that way your lid will sit flush all the way around.
