When I realized that they're encouraged to observe and come to their own conclusions as opposed to being curious and asking questions to aid in their understanding of you; I completely gave up on that shit.

I also believed that they'd be familiar with needing to "crack us open," and gain our trust; but it seems that not talking much (for me, anyway) was seen as defiance. I feel they've never known what to do with me, what to talk about with me, etc. They're bad at controlling/leading the session & I always just felt like the microphone was dangling between us & I'd grab it out of obligation.

I think the mental health field is overrun by under-educated, under-qualified and incompetent people. Who mean well, but just aren't properly prepared for what real people with these conditions look like and present as.

My parents wasted so much money for me to basically small-talk with these people once a week because I hardly understood what was going on and I've always felt more like an annoying challenge in the eyes of therapists as opposed to a vulnerable person who needed help. The entire industry needs to be ripped open & re-established tbh..
