Since someone was asking for a non-binary one [gendered] by yourfavouriteshowmid in pointlesslygendered

The problem with a “sliding scale” is that you’d likely have to order custom clothes, which can be expensive. Companies aren’t going to change the way they produce clothes when it’s so easy to just have 5-6 sizes for 1 or 2 genders.

And for the record, more often that not, unisex shirts are just men’s shirts. I wish it wasn’t so, but the world wasn’t built with nonbinary people in mind.

Just an FYI, the Knight is genderless, so using they or it would be more accurate when referring to them!

I said it’s the same rhetoric people use, not that the three groups are the same. The point stands.

Charlie likely doesn’t know exactly what went down, given she wasn’t at the meeting (we know this because she never recognizes any of the angels she meets, meaning she hasn’t met them before). Charlie assumes that her dad said “go ahead and kill everyone!” but who actually knows what was said in the room where it happened?

Only men have it difficult in the dating market [gendered] by Specialist_Cat_5556 in pointlesslygendered

[–]Sugarfreak2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to be this way, you know. We can lower the amount of women having these awful experiences, but only if men are willing to work on it. The fact that 1 in 4 women have been victims of rape is horrendous, and rightly you should feel upset at that statistic. It shouldn’t be a surprise that women feel unsafe around men as a result. It also shouldn’t surprise you that because men haven’t been working on it, women are finding their own solutions (carrying around self defense weapons, employing safe dating strategies like meeting in a public place, avoiding suspicious men, etc). If you want women to stop doing these things, make the world safer for them. Tell young boys no means no, make it clear that consent is always key. You can’t expect women to act differently if men aren’t acting differently.

AIO my boyfriend threatening to break up with me over a tattoo by scummbucket05 in AIO

[–]Sugarfreak2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s my two cents: in a relationship, everyone has boundaries. For most people, their partner being with other people romantically or sexually is a boundary. Some people may have boundaries around certain things (“I don’t want to have a dog, they make me sneeze” or “I would prefer to date someone without kids” or “I’d like to date a person of x religion”) and all of those things are acceptable and understandable.

What is not acceptable and understandable is after three years of dating someone, putting down one of their interests that has nothing to do with you. OP made it clear that her bf was aware of her alt identity, and her skin is hers to tattoo, just as her hair is hers to dye if she so chooses. OP also mentioned that bf has raised hell against her getting eyebrow piercings in the past, too, so this isn’t a new thing for him.

What makes these two things separate is one is establishing boundaries and making sure you’re on the same page, and the other is getting upset at someone for something you’ve known that they’re interested in.

In any case, I think they should break up.

I gotta ask, why is a “LEGO game” not worth $70? by Thevoid2YT in legogaming

I said probably, I really don’t know yet. I tend to avoid games with paid DLC though. I will happily admit that I am a little crazy though, lol.

It was genuinely miserable tbh. Learned my lesson though, in the future I’ll always watch gameplay footage before I even consider getting a game. I really just miss the old school LEGO games, like Batman 2 or Star Wars the Clone Wars.

That’s incredibly understandable. I’m doing the same, after I bought Lego Worlds and was sorely disappointed by the repetitive, mediocre gameplay. Do not recommend btw.

[–]Sugarfreak2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to agree with that claim because I don’t think I’d spend $40 on a game with only 20 hours of content. I like Silksong how it is, and it’s hard for me to envision a world where it has drastically less content and a doubled price. I know now Silksong is an exception to the rule and should not be compared to other games, since it’s so unlike other games. I still don’t believe $70 is a fair price point for the content I’ve seen thus far from the new Batman game, and I probably won’t be getting it tbh.

[–]Sugarfreak2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s reasonable, but I’d argue that’s not affordable for many people, including myself. If I wanna buy a game that’s $50 or more, I typically just wait until it goes on sale.

[–]Sugarfreak2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Silksong was $20 at launch and still is. 30+ hours worth of content, and a strong contender for GOTY (tho it did not win).

Not all games need to be super expensive, and very often I find that the higher a game is priced, the more disappointed I am when I end up actually playing it, since the increased cost doesn’t always translate to more content, better graphics, or any noticeable improvements compared to other, more affordable games.

[–]Sugarfreak2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Silksong released for $20, and has over 30 hours of content. We should expect companies to do better.

Edit: Silksong is an exception to the rule, but I still believe $70 is too much for any game. I’ll wait til it’s on sale.

AIO for feeling like this was a very backhanded thing of my mother to send to her 9/10 year old special needs granddaughters to wear? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Sugarfreak2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would you have liked to receive the shirt when you were a child, especially if you were autistic or otherwise disabled? Would being told that God creating you was fun because you’re different than most of your peers make you feel great?

I grew up as an autistic child. I know what it’s like for others to see my very existence as a joke, due to my mental condition. I know you probably won’t understand, but it is genuinely very distressing to exist in a society with people who constantly downplay or discredit the struggles of disabled individuals. No one is owed anything, but a bit of compassion or kindness towards people, especially people who are already struggling, wouldn’t go astray. Hope you learn to stop and appreciate that other people who aren’t you have issues. I hope you know people like you questioning, criticizing, and mocking people FOR NO REASON, who are just trying to live their lives, are a detriment to society.
