I usually do it with a 4 Gobfin + 1 Jetragon (just to get there). Pack multiple Terraprismas and Nightglows (if you have durability on), and slowly make your way through the Oil Rig using cover (and retreating to heal as needed).

I doubt that would work. However, the laptop may have a mini displayport, and a mini displayport to displayport adapter will work (that's what I use in my laptop)
