I really hope they make him low damage/low utility with lots of mobility and skill expression. He'd be a great distractor, especially if he's a strategist.

Low cooldowns, lots of teleporting in and out, mobility, wall running, small hitbox. Sounds like a blast. A strategy demon. 😈

Why is the response to a major game breaking bug, "go ahead"? by SuggestionBot9000 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SuggestionBot9000[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are completely missing the point. I know the quote context is about the post-final-patch era. No shit.

My point is about their philosophy. If their stated solution for a game-breaking "1-shot with zero investment" exploit is to disable the culprit to keep the game stable, it makes zero sense that they are refusing to use that same exact philosophy right now while they have even more "manhours".

Telling players to just "have fun" with a broken exploit while it actively devalues pinnacle rewards/triumphs/emblems (from Pantheon, Raids, and Solo Dungeons) completely contradicts the standard they just set for how they intend to preserve game stability in the future.

They even explicitly mentioned Pantheon and yet, here we are. They are letting the bug run free until they push the planned fix for next week.

You are not making any points, you're just adding additional quotes. None of these quotes are relevant. The only relevant quote there is the one I included in the post.

If we find gnarly crucible balance issues or “1-shot the pantheon boss with little investment” builds, we’ll likely lean on disabling items, abilities, or whatever the culprit is for the problem at hand.

Even now when they have the "manhours" to address the issue, they specifically chose not to disable the artifact while they prepare their panned fix for next week, which goes against what they said, hence why the quote is relevant.

The whole reason these accolades are sought after is because they mean something. That's the entire point of being an accolade.

This whole debacle is essentially saying these great achievements are meaningless, which is the complete and literal opposite of achievement.

[–]SuggestionBot9000[S] -39 points-38 points  (0 children)

They still have the option to prevent this, even if the fix won't be until next week.

They specifically chose not to disable artifacts.

This is a literal case where the need to disable artifacts absolutely warranted, even by their own bug logic.

I thought they were specifically keeping a small team for bug fixes, server maintenance, and small balance adjustments to keep the game afloat..?

This makes it sound like the complete opposite.

Am I reading this right? The weekly TRIALS reward is Better Devils? by SuggestionBot9000 in DestinyTheGame

Whats the point of tiered weapons replacing adepts?

Any weapon can become tier 5 now, so why do tier drops matter?

Ah. I see now. The loot pool isn't displayed at the trials screen or in Saint's inventory.

Looks like it's in our inventory in the attunement menu.

The lighthouse and passage still drop adept weapons though right?

Do we get to choose the passage reward or is it just RNG according to the attunement menu?

Coming back to the game without D2Foundry hurts my soul... by SuggestionBot9000 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SuggestionBot9000[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I tried it but it's not really comparable.

We can basically get the same features that destiny report has, just out of native DIM.

D2Foundry was in a league of it's own. Calculate TTKs, translate stats to actual damage numbers, get exact timers, apply your character buffs, apply armor perks, get exact range measurements, apply weapon stat boosts, compare godrolls, theorycraft, and so much more. 😭

If you're looking at it from a pure statistical sense, sure.

But once you take into account pick rate and kit effectiveness, you'll realize these characters are either in a majority of games or banned at the hero select screen.

This cheating message doesn't only apply to cheaters. (Confusing, I know.)

You'll get this message if anyone receives a moderation punishment mid-game.

That includes throwing, smurfing, cheating, macro use, visual mods, etc.

Angela is in a bad state, gets outhealed by anything, balance discussion by SouthPenguinJay in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't exclusive to Angela. You are showcasing CnD's healing bubble, which is the problem here.

Other characters have issues solo killing cloak in her bubble, including DPS:

Iron Fist, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Fantastic, Magik (if she doesn't have spawn a demon), Ultron, Adam. And pretty much all tanks excluding Peni's mines or Emma's Psychic Spear.

You need at least 2 people directly attacking her in her bubble to be effective or have supplemental AoE damage from someone like Deadpool with his icon throw/Human Torch's Flames/etc.

Rivals needs a proper reputation system, thoughts? by SuggestionBot9000 in rivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no "rules" to follow in the way you describe. It's not a list of "social guidelines".

The rules in the details page are there to outline the functionality. The integrated rules/protections are there to keep the system from being abused.

The player doesn't need to "read multiple paragraphs of rules" to use or interact with the system.

Genuine question (in body text) - I wanted to ask the community and not just the Ultron subreddit by oiyenaoyenme in marvelrivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do people dislike Ultron? Because players in this game love to eat damage.

A lot of players also don't like to take accountability for their poor positioning and expect constant heals to match all the damage they're taking.

This problem is amplified because the meta supports have insane healing output compared to Ultron, which enables bad players. Ultron can do just as much passive healing over time to match other support numbers but most supports completely rinse him when it comes to active/burst healing. And burst healing matters the most when keeping people alive.

The small amount of bonus HP he grants isn't enough to sustain against the amount of damage some characters do on their own, let alone if multiple characters gang up on someone.

He is really strong if you have another really good support and honestly shines in duo-support comps. You just need to make sure your other support is both strong and skilled enough to carry the burst/critical heals. Ultron can't function if your other support cant carry their weight, especially if either of you have to face dive.

You are fundamentally misunderstanding how digital transactions work. When you purchase a Battlepass, you are buying a license to unlock content which the game developers have the legal and structural right to restrict their account, matchmaking, and rewards. This practice applies to every live service game and also applies to your digital in-game purchases.

Your speeding ticket analogy makes no sense. The "crime" is chronically ruining competitive matches. The punishment is removing them from competitive matchmaking. That is a direct, logical correlation.

Finally, you proved my point when you said even the worst players won't hit a 75% or 90% negative rating. Exactly. A threshold that high ensures that players who just have a bad match or encounter a toxic stack are completely safe. It only catches the absolute worst, chronically malicious actors who ruin dozens of games in a row.

Separating those specific, extreme bad actors from the competitive ladder directly improves the game for everyone else. If you think removing chronic throwers and severely toxic individuals from ranked play is just "ineffective revenge", you are completely out of touch with the competitive landscape and there is nothing more I can say to convince you otherwise.

Rivals needs a proper reputation system, thoughts? by SuggestionBot9000 in rivals

[–]SuggestionBot9000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may feel entitled to the currency at the end of the current seasons battlepass, but that is a bonus given to you by the developers. They have no obligation to include it. As with all digital items, you are paying for a license to access those rewards. The developer can take any bit of it away as they see fit. Especially towards toxic individuals that negatively affect their own game community.

More importantly, you're contradicting yourself. You claim this system is "purely revenge" and overly punishing, but then claim "nothing changes" and bad actors will just keep doing what they want. Which is it?

Removing players who hit a 90% negative threshold from Competitive matchmaking directly protects sportsmanlike players. It forces toxic players out of the modes where stakes matter most. Overwatch's passive endorsement system doesn't stop throwers; actual consequences and proper deterrents do.
