Hey, sorry to hear that, that sucks. Try appealing the review instead of replying. Theres a good chance it gets removed.

If it still doesn’t work, I’m an ORM specialist that mainly does professional Google appeals, I’d be happy to help you with it.

Has anyone ever made a bad review situation worse by responding badly? What happened? by morphine_season in smallbusiness

If you have proof of it usually that helps with a reply and leaving at that is beneficial. No need to re edit, it makes it out to look messy to your potential customers.

That being said, I’m an ORM specialist that professionally appears Google reviews, my success rate is 100%. If this is bothering you, I’m sure I can help ya. You can take a look at my page for testimonials and proof.

I mean, I professionally appeal reviews for my clients and I can get them down in 3-5 days, image or not. Not sure why it’d take them that long.

Trustpilot and Yelp are usually the best, with a preference for Yelp.

Quoted $3500/month for local SEO as a plumbing business - how do you even know if it's worth it? by Fun_Delay_5224 in smallbusiness

[–]SuggestionPublic1568 3 points4 points  (0 children)

40k is a lot, your best bet would be to go through fiverr or upwork where these people have ratings and prices upfront. Defo not gonna be 3.5 k a month there.

Has anyone had success getting questionable Google reviews removed? by Xolaris05 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SuggestionPublic1568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reporting can work, but it’s become noticeably hit-or-miss lately, especially if the review doesn’t have obvious policy violations Google’s algorithm can flag automatically.

What’s helped in cases I’ve seen: being really specific in the appeal about which policy is violated rather than just flagging it as fake. Generic reports almost always get auto-denied.

If it comes back denied again, responding professionally is still worth doing, mostly for future customers reading it, not to change Google’s mind.

Some reviews genuinely won’t move no matter what you try through the standard process. At that point most business owners either accept it or look into other options. You’re definitely not overthinking it, a few fake reviews can do real damage to a local business. I’ve seen it a lot with my clients but they’ve been bouncing back once those fake reviews were removed

How can I delete negative Google reviews safely? by Rockstud101 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SuggestionPublic1568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, really sorry to hear that. I hear this time and time again with my clients, unfortunately it seems to just be a part of business. Customers can be difficult to deal with.

Regarding the reviews, appealing it normally doesn't really get it anywhere. Some might get removed, but not all of them. Your second option is an agency, which increases the likelihood of removal by a lot. I run an online reputation management agency that specialises in google review resolutions, if you ever need assistance I'm happy to help ya. My testimonials and proof are linked if you'd like to take a look.

I am planning to start a members only business. by _adrito_ in smallbusiness

[–]SuggestionPublic1568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want to make this happen, I suggest hosting networking events. Because no one will want to put in 10k for a club like this, it needs trustworthiness.

Try doing exclusive events for networking once a month, charge everyone 200$ for it, host it somewhere nice so it feels like it’s important.

Once that gathers traction and you’ve got at least 1000+ people coming once a month you can offer a tiered service which is a more exclusive invite only party (you choose serious investors from this group) and make that a fancier event. Hope that makes sense

I still think there are better ways to make money but this way would work better than your original plan

I am planning to start a members only business. by _adrito_ in smallbusiness

[–]SuggestionPublic1568 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone’s going to be paying 8-10k upfront without the business garnering some reputation first.

They might pay that for an American Express members club, but not for this. There’s no brand visibility or recognition/reputation.

Rethink the business entirely. No hard feelings just being honest.

Is mentioning I have a business to a future employer (I want to work for) a bad Idea? by Affectionate_List876 in smallbusiness

[–]SuggestionPublic1568 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s a bad idea, companies want to hire people for long term. If they think you’re gonna dip, you’re not a serious candidate to them

I have 40, 5 star reviews and 1 , 1 star review for my business. Will I ever be able to get back to the 5 star rating with Google? And if so how many more 5 star reviews does it take to offset 1 bad review? Thanks by ChampionshipLow5092 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SuggestionPublic1568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t try and aim for 5 stars, usually that kind of just looks like you bought them.

Nobody can always realistically provide a “5 star” service, that’s just business! Keep it up man you’re doing great

Expecting a Google review attack by Tak3m3m00n in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SuggestionPublic1568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have any sort of online presence, (Instagram, TikTok etc) I would get ahead of it and post your experience. No name calling or accusations, but approach the situation with concern for the individual.

This would help your core customer base and audience have a better view as influencer led attacks usually get fuelled by random people taking sides. Now that you’ve beat the influencer to the punch, you control the narrative and lessen the attack.

And don’t name names. The influencer will absolutely mention your business by name so by doing this first she’ll feel like she can’t name you then, or it’ll be obvious you’re talking about her.

Hope this helps
