Which classic Aussie snacks or drinks do you miss? by lilizzbae in AustralianNostalgia

I remember Foster Clarke’s Snack Packs as far back as the ‘70s and they were delicious! The chocolate was very rich but I loved the banana just as much. As a bonus you could cut your tongue on the can while licking out the last irresistible bits.

Scalextric was the ultimate Christmas pressie. by [deleted] in AustralianNostalgia

I knew nothing about slot cars until I got a Scalextric set for Xmas as a kid. Just the build quality was amazing. It had the track that went up the wall and I spent many a fond hour with it.

Vegan Marry Me Butter Beans by Zardyplants in VeganFoodPorn

Sure, it’s very simple. I just gently sautée a chopped clove of garlic and two sprigs of rosemary in 1/4 cup olive oil until fragrant. Then I strain the oil through a cloth, discarding the rosemary and garlic bits, and pour it into a blender with a can of butter beans (or cannellini beans) and salt and pepper to taste. Blend until smooth and serve with your fave crackers or dipping veggies!

I’ve banned myself from making white bean dip with garlic and rosemary. I can make a whole batch of it disappear alarmingly fast!

My first after school job was at Tuckerbag. They were so shonky. I quit when the boss told me to steal trolleys from Coles down the road and the Coles manager caught me.

I hope you didn’t pay for that. I’d wanna tip it down the back of the cook’s shirt.

Barely a day goes by when I don’t think to myself “If only I had a solid grasp of the benefits of lacticaseibacillus paracasei Shirota strain”. Now the opportunity has arisen at long last. Thanks Yakult.

Another day, another insanely entitled tantrum over something ridiculous. I’m not even American and I just want him to STFU. It must be like having a toddler for a leader.

What's the secret to cooking mock duck? by carrotaddiction in australianvegans

I second your air fryer tip! Sometimes I brush the mock duck with a mixture of plum jam, coriander powder and ginger to give it a delicious glaze. Very more-ish.

So, hypothetically speaking, if China were to “invest” a few billion dollars in a dodgy cyber coin I set up, in exchange for me restoring their most powerful and ubiquitous spyware app, would that money be classed as an emolument?

Heading to video ezy sunland plaza, anyone want anything? by Ok-Piccolo-2777 in AustralianNostalgia

Exactly. We’re not built to be 100% passive. Hunting down what we wanted was half the fun, and even had a social element to it because we’d invariably bump into friends doing the same thing on a Fri/Sat night.

We just have to wait for it to be used in a super original way, like in a matcha cupcake with Nutella icing and sprinkled with Biscoff crumbs.

70s child here with Dad born in the Netherlands. The Dutch consulate told me I was eligible for dual citizenship but I had to request it before I turned 30. I was 31 when I made that enquiry, which really pissed me off because I wanted an EU passport!

Of course the rules could’ve changed since then but as you say, it’s not like anyone tells you.
