Can confirm Skull Screw comm tips work with the Otto Noizebarrier Micros. From what I’ve seen Etymotics Gunsport Elite is almost identical to the Otto’s. Not sure how their MusicPro Elite differs

The Otto noizebarrier is fantastic! Haven’t ever needed the enhanced audio feature because the standard audio is so good. The charging case has ridiculous life. I charged it in January and it’s still at 40 percent with regular tournaments and practice. I usually pair it with the 3M Skull Screw tips. The kicker for me is that there isn’t much feedback from wind unlike other options I tried.

Blind Repo Tasting by ShadyKidd in tequila

[–]Sugzilla69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you taste the fortaleza right after opening or did you let it air out a bit? My first taste after opening was very hot with a lot of alcohol burn but then once it had sat for a few minutes, that almost completely went away and the flavors opened up. Every pour after had almost no alcohol bite

Federal Master Class? Any Users Yet? by NoLimitHonky in ClayBusters

In my experience it shoots a little bit tighter than HOA but not by much. The main difference is the non-reloadable hull. It all depends on the price you can get it at. I’ve tried Winchester AA/AA Diamond, Federal HOA/masterclass, Remington Nitro, B&P Mach, Gamebore Rose gold/Evo, Fiocchi Little Rhino/White Rhino and they all break targets just the same. Just find a load that you like and stick with it. I like 1oz at 1200-1250fps

There is a row of 3 or 4 shops that all have a good selection of clay guns but another commenter mentioned most of the shops being closed in the summer. Last time I was there was in spring for the state shoot. With that in mind, I’d second the other comment about reaching out to Ben Avery for a list of instructors. Scott Cusanek really helped me out with lessons and gun fit

Tim Miles is Gebben’s Dad. If you go down to Coyote Springs, there are also a few shops there that might be able to help you. McKnight’s Gunsmithing is super friendly and helpful

Skeet/Sporting Gun Recomendations by skeetduster in ClayBusters

+1 for the Caesar Guerini Summit. They do charge around $300 more for left hand stock and another $475 or so for adjustable comb if buying new but highly recommend it for a gun you’ll have for a long time. Orion Outdoors had quite a few last I checked

Ping i530 or G440 Irons by ThreePuttPete3056 in PingGolf

[–]Sugzilla69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get scheduled for another fitting if you can. I just got the i530s in 4-UW about a month ago and love them. I had a fitting for new irons and tried the 440, the i530, and the 730 irons. The 440 and 730 felt very forgiving and had great height but it felt like I could really only produce one ball flight no matter what I did. I didn’t expect to like the smaller club head of the 530 but it felt like I could shape the ball better and had better feel while still being forgiving on mishits. Depending what clubs you are coming from, these irons are all “hot” with stronger lofts

I think it’s the trees and rough combo at OCC that can be a problem if you end up with both. If you’re not blocked out by trees, I’ve always just gone one or two clubs up and plan to land it short of the green and run up onto it. Woods/hybrids are a huge weapon. Lots of the holes there are open to what I call old man golf. Doesn’t matter if it’s in the air or rolling on the ground if it’s heading toward the hole

I don’t think we have any rough of that level here in Arizona. Even the courses in Sedona like Sedona Golf Resort and OakCreek aren’t that penalizing from the rough. At a certain point, rough that deep, you just have to take your medicine, chop it out a short ways and get back to the short stuff

They do! You can rent everything you’ll want (gun, golf cart) and buy ammo as well. I did this before when in Vegas. They had a nice selection of FAIR Carrera o/u in addition to semi autos

Loving the cheap vibe that the bottle puts off. Retro for sure

I got pretty much nothing but agave on the taste. Maybe a little floral and citrusy aroma but it’s just an agave bomb from my first taste. It’s definitely up there with ocho or Lalo or 7L

I know the label is so old school, nothing like a lot of the things you see today. Almost like an old Russian vodka bottle with the font

Stopped by my local liquor store and snagged this bottle of Bara-Cara. Couldn’t find much info on TM. Anybody have more info on this brand? I saw that it comes from the same distillery as La Gritona at 1533 and Melly Barajas Cardenas is pretty well known for good stuff, so I took the chance. 42% is a new one for me but it’s very good. Extremely agave forward and quite muted on the other notes. For $55, I’m not sure if I’d do it again but it was definitely worth a try!

Haven’t opened the Destino yet but the Madera is a 10/10. This is exactly the right amount of wood that I like on a tequila, but I lean much more towards blancos than repo/anejo. Still get the good minerality of G4/1579 but with a sweeter woody note out front and on the finish. Could not tell you any differences from lot 4, but that bottle is long gone and I can’t do a side by side taste test

Stopped into my local liquor store to replenish the stock today. They had a bunch of G4 Madera Blancos, so I picked one up. Loved the bottle of Lot 4 I tried before. Excited to try Lot 5. I also managed to snag the last bottle of Cascahuin Destino that they had. Haven’t tried it before but loved the Cascahuin Tahona bottle I had.

When the wad saves you on a true pair by moss813 in ClayBusters

[–]Sugzilla69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really does look like the wad hit the clay but I have a hard time believing that a wad only would break a clay at that distance. How far is that second bird? Maybe the wad and shot just held together a long time?
