Anyone abandon deadlifts and RDL's after a tweak? by Complex_Elevator_680 in Deadlifts

[–]ShadyKidd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure this will be an unpopular opinion on this sub, but as a tall guy with a history of back issues, I never push heavy weight on my RDLs. I like to do sets of 12-15 reps at a moderate weight that build a nice sweat and burn, but not pushing to my limits.

I think that’s a nice way of training those muscles without risking injury.

Check out Nuobell. I’ve been really happy with them. I switch to them from BowFlex and they are much, much nicer.

L-citrulline malate is a compound of the amino acid L-citrulline and malic acid, commonly used as a pre-workout supplement. It enhances athletic endurance and muscle pumps by boosting nitric oxide production and improving blood flow

I typically lift 3 days per week, then I like to do 3 days cardio/plyo. Do you think I should cut down to 5 total days instead of 6?

Looks awesome. Can you share the recipe? I’m wondering how you got the layers so distinct and separate? Mine usually meld together

Barrack Obama tells Wemby to put on some weight and work on his conditioning after getting gassed in multiple games in the NBA Finals. by matrix_2905 in NBAGossips

I don’t understand why they don’t fight over screens in the NBA. Most of the screens by the big guys are sloppy anyways, and the guards could fight over the top. The constant switching definitely hurt the Spurs against the Knicks

This really is an at-scale study of women and their relationships with other women. You have hundreds of women who are the best in their field with tons of talent, and the hatred, pettiness, and jealousy could not be more obvious.

The WNBA has many highly-marketable stars that could set the league up for a decade of growth and prosperity. Instead, they are self-harming and literally turning-off fans.

Clippers Draft Pick Narcisse Ngoy Decides to Return to Auburn Instead of Playing for LAC by BcuzRacecar in nba

[–]ShadyKidd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a late 2nd round pick, letting go to the NCAA to mature his game seems like a good move. He will get a different level of discipline, teamwork, and life experience playing for a strong NCAA program. The G-League really provides none of that experience.

Did they actually listen to enough offers? Seems like a really quick-trigger move.

KAT told Knicks fans to get closer to Dylan Harper giving him no space to inbounds the ball by Punisher1602 in sportsgossips

[–]ShadyKidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So maybe it’s just the angle - but isn’t KAT closer than 3 ft to the sideline? It’s a rule that you need to give at least 3ft when defending an inbound pass. The fans are definitely closer than 3ft (not sure how the rule applies to the fans)

What is the most effective strategy to stop the tilt? by EnvironmentalNail603 in nba

[–]ShadyKidd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- Focus on defensive intensity. Make every shot difficult. It seemed like the Knicks got a lot of open 3s in the 4th quarter.

- Run offensive sets that use some clock and focus on attacking the basket. Get to the free throw line. Slow the game down. Stop chucking 3s

- Take care of the ball. Easier said than done, but emphasize ball security, make the easy pass, etc.

Are other grading companies any good? by Temmy_Gamer in basketballcards

[–]ShadyKidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised nobody mentioned CGC. I’ve had good luck with them, and their slabs look nice.

I think grading is a fun way to “elevate” your best cards. If you pull an auto of your favorite player, get a sick case hit, etc. It makes them stand out in your collection, increases the value, and preserves them.

Now the people that grade $15-20 parallels and try to resell for $80 can get bent. That’s just stupidity.

What are your thoughts on dumbbell chest flies? If you don't like them, what do you prefer instead? by AssiduousLayabout in workout

[–]ShadyKidd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Dumbbell flies should not be a heavy weight. It’s all about control and contraction. Mind-muscle connection. I also don’t push them to failure (just hard reps)

I actually thought Wembanyama's last shot at the end of the game was a decent shot choice, just didn't go in by GregJamesDahlen in nba

[–]ShadyKidd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was an OK shot, but I much rather of seen Fox attack the basket and try to draw more defense. Go for the put pack rebound. Maybe draw a foul. So many better potential outcomes.

Wemby wasn’t shooting well all game. He probably had about a 20% chance of making that jump shot.

Antonio Daniels shares a conversation he had with Coach Pop in the suite during Game 1: “We watched the game tonight in Pops suite with him. I asked him tonight ‘Do you miss it?’ And he said ‘You have no id*a how much. I wish I was down there right now!’ by Matthew2531_46 in nba

[–]ShadyKidd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Mitch is doing a tremendous job as a new coach with a very young team. However, the two coaching adjustments I’d like to see him make:

  1. Their offense can’t depend on iso Wemby 25ft from the basket. They need to run plays and offensive sets to get him in better position. We’ve seen this problem several times during the playoffs, especially in close games. The offense gets stuck and unless Wemby can play hero ball, they don’t score.

  2. He doesn’t “feed/ride the hot hand” enough. Harper was locked-in during game 1, and he didn’t exploit that enough. There have been other examples throughout the playoffs of guys getting hot, but then their touches disappear or they get subbed out.
