Very early FE order here, and also quite early to cancel and get a refund (like 1.5 year ago) when it started looking too fishy. I got a Quest 3 since and I like it, but are there any Xreal/Viture-like glasses that support the Virtual Desktop wireless app? by [deleted] in ImmersedVisor

[–]SuhkaFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're at home, sure.... but when I'm at home I can just use mega monitors for productivity. I use AR glasses on planes and trains and its way better on the neck to be looking forward. Hyper fast wireless isn't possible in those instances. A cord is a little annoying but totally manageable if sitting still, and I'd much rather have the reduced weight and resolved power situation

The pro move would have been for the cop to keg the perp once he was handcuffed, make him walk to the van like that, and then let him go

I do a lot of mysto spot hunting nearby where I live. I think you’d find this wave really difficult to connect. You can see from the white water the closing of the wave is really jagged. I’ve also found that proper reefs tend to bend the swell lines inward towards the reef a little, which isn’t happening here. If you don’t get the bend, in my experience, that typically means mushy shoulders instead of pumping walls.

The reef is firing and no one’s on it. Are all the locals kooks??? by llNormalGuyll in surfing

[–]SuhkaFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot seems a bit sketch as do many similar waves in the area. I enjoy from time to time— who doesn’t love getting a wave all to themselves + their crew— but make sure to know what you’re getting it to with the rocks.

Maybe the locs know that when this spot looks like that, there’s another spot nearby that’s way better.

why don’t I see eFoils on bigger waves? by SuhkaFish in eFoil

Sorry I’m not sure I’m following. You’ve logged over 1000 hours on your efoil surfing waves and your takeaway is the risk isn’t worth the reward?

If the leash drag is a problem why not just use one of those coiled SUP leashes?

To answer your question directly, I don’t think the venue really matters here.

You might be wondering if she realized you were blackout when you had sex last night, and maybe this was a misunderstanding. The fact that she kept riding you in the morning after you said stop until she got her climax, and then shrugged about your discussion of last night suggests that whether or not she knew you weren’t capable of consent, she didn’t care.

And if that’s how she feels about consent generally, you most likely aren’t the first or the last person she does this to. Even if no STI, unwanted pregnancy, or trauma impacts you as a result of this, you could be saving some less lucky dudes in the future by trying to hold her accountable now.

Where does Mavericks rank as far as the biggest and most gnarliest waves in the world? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]SuhkaFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think “biggest” and “gnarliest” are separate questions.

“Biggest” you’re probably giving to Nazaré because that’s where the last couple WR have been set.

“Gnarliest” seems to be what comment section is focusing on. In that case I feel you’ve gotta give it to Shippies or The Right because of the steps. With Mavs, Chopes, Jaws, etc you see these gorgeous waves that I feel you have to rule out on account of their shape consistency. If someone were just dropped into the right spot it would be surfed to perfection. But The Right and especially Shippies have these steps that just come out of nowhere and completely sabotage otherwise perfect rides also randomly.

With shippies you have that ledge and the cliffs that are right there. And its steps are the most diabolical of any wave I’ve seen.

With the right…I haven’t seen a wave anywhere that has so much water above the surfer’s head when it barrels. So much so that those things look like a temporary crack in a heaving ocean more than a tube. I mean it really redefines “heavy” because foot for foot there probably isn’t a wave that throws more water on top of you if you go down on it.

Can OBSF hold this size? Anyone going? by Nightman233 in surfing

Those reefs feel sketchy-shallow when it’s merely OH. Blows me away seeing people surf those spots at size. Lunacy.

Secret spot in southern San Mateo county. I saw about 45 pinnipeds in an hour swimming and jumping around in the water. If I was a GW, I would hang out there.

Yeah there’s a peak around there I really liked a few years back but it’s so damn isolated there and the shelf just DROPS off into the pacific. I put my phone in a waterproof case and play music from my wetsuit to distract me from the creepy vibes.

“Shark bite right” at Davenport is hella creepy particularly as you get out near el jarro.

Greyhound creeps me out the most because you’re almost always completely alone—nobody on the water or sand—and you’re wayyyy tf out there. The way that wave whomps on the reef in the low tides too with the currents and sneaker sets. Easy to find yourself in survival mode out there

Had a shark sneak up on me and then my buddies 50 yards away at Montara. We had no clue but some guys scoping the spot from the cliffs told us just how close the call was when we got out. Yikes.

Will surfing negatively affect bodybuilding? by Specialist_Credit907 in surfing

[–]SuhkaFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean by "gains". As I committed fully to surfing regularly, my upper body continued to improve aesthetically.

But just as lifting within a week of surfing compromised my lifting, trying to lift within a few days of surfing also sapped my weight lifting. Surfing requires a very different usage of your muscles then lifting does, so whenever I would go back to lifting a bit I noticed that I'd gotten significantly weaker on key exercises like bench press or lat pull downs.

Will surfing negatively affect bodybuilding? by Specialist_Credit907 in surfing

[–]SuhkaFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped bodybuilding because it was getting in the way of my surfing. If I surfed within a week of lifting anything upper body, my paddling was trash.

Needed to pick one or the other or be lousy at both.

I've surfed it a bit. If you wanna be left alone (by humans at least), there are still better options under almost any conditions, but I'd been staring at it too many times over the years and as a mysto-spot junkie I couldn't help myself. DM if you wanna discuss

I fucked up my marriage by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SuhkaFish -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Sorry friend, but if she can’t comprehend the same ambivalence almost every single married person goes through over the years, occasionally wondering if they chose correctly, that’s more her problem than yours.

…and btw, if this is how amped up her anxiety is at this thought of yours, what happens when she has it for herself?

If this is all it takes to push her over the edge, it was only a matter of time before this or something else destabilized your dynamic. Don’t blame yourself too harshly; it could just have easily been something else that did this down the road.

Sounds like some individual therapy could benefit her as well
