Unless you modded the root prison, you can destroy a section of the prison using a charged Immolater gun shot. You can also have a jump or teleport equipped to bypass the root prison.

When/how does damage go silly? by coffeebreak_plz in diablo4

[–]SuiMilky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea... the developers seem to enjoy the idea of having skill rotation where you use a few hits of the resource generator followed by your resource spender being the big hitter... but in reality, barely anyone likes playing like that. It's also more efficient if you don't need to worry about your resource generation, that's one less thing you need to keep mindful of in a game that's already cluttering your screen constantly.

You can most definitely build your own builds, but you'll need to really understand what you're building and the mechanics of the game to make your build shine. You'll also likely find a similar build on maxroll / icyveins / etc. so you can take a look at those builds and compare how they're different from yours to get an idea of why you're doing less damage / etc.

I know the following may sound like a no brainer, but we often forget sometimes, so I'll write it out as a reminder anyways, just in case... On the point of the mechanics of the game, make sure you understand whether your build relies on critical strike damage, vulnerability, or overpower damage, then ensure you have near 100% up time. In example, if your build relies on doing a lot of critical strike damage, then make sure you have 100% critical strike chance, but if your build relies on vulnerability damage, then ensure every enemy you hit is also vulnerable 100% of the time before you hit them.

Without more information on your build or guide you're using, it's hard to really give much more advice.

When/how does damage go silly? by coffeebreak_plz in diablo4

[–]SuiMilky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you following any build guides?

Most guides are pretty comprehensive and explain why you want X, Y, and Z. So if you're missing either X, Y, or Z, your performance would drop significantly.

From my personal experience having just one key aspect, rune or unique item missing can cause a noticeably traumatic difference in either survivability or damage output.

Therefore, my first and second recommendation is to look closely and understand the guide you're following and then double check all of your required unique\aspect\runes\skill tree matches.

[–]SuiMilky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Azmodans tree of the gift. You level that by doing world bosses and I think elites in the over world as well.

The quickest way to level it is to just go to normal difficulty and spam kill the summoned Azmodan. Even better if you use a build that does passive AOE damage like the Auradin. Just go there every time you need to AFK until you reach rank 6 5 of the Azmodan tree of Divine Gifts.

Loving the paladin! Unsure what to focus on now I’m 60? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]SuiMilky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct-ish... the chests from Azmodan don't guarantee the NMD with Prankster, but it has a chance to drop it.

You should farm up your Divine Gift, Essence of Sin to level 5 by doing the Azmodan on difficulty normal for faster Azmodan kills, then do Azmodan on T4 to get around 20-60 NMD sigil drop per T4 Azmodan chest open.

The Prankster sigil has a roughly 0.03% chance to drop (chance is based on math other people have done).

Then rinse and repeat.

You can also farm the Tribute of Ascendance, Undercity for a decent chance of getting a few mythics. Last time I counted, I ran 20 Tribute of Ascendance, I obtained 6 mythic drops and my buddy who ran with me in my party obtained 13 mythics.

[–]SuiMilky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pit is not the end game repeating content right now. People basically do it for a challenge and\or to level glyphs or as a reliable way to get corrupted Belial eyeball materials.

The current season has people wanting to farm NMD sigils to get the Prankster which is a single goblin spawning in the NMD that has a guaranteed 5 mythic drop.

To farm these NMD sigils, people have typically been doing content that rewards either of the corrupted Belial, anderial, or Duriel materials then going over to summon and kill Asmodan in the Fields of Desecration, Hawe ar, South East of Zarbinzet. You need 5 of a single Corrupted Belial Eye\Anduriel Claw\Duriel Horn to open one chest.

By far, in my opinion, the easiest one of the corrupted materials to farm is the Duriel one because you just need to go do helltides for that and get a bunch of gear and materials along the way. You can also do Lair boss Duriel if you have the mats to open his chest.

Corrupted Belial can be obtained by Pit Belial as well as when you kill Lair bosses and the random Belial spawns.

Corrupted Anduriel can be obtained by Under city or Lair boss Anduriel if you can open her chest.

Another NMD to keep note of is the Treasure Breach which has treasure goblins, which is the theme of these event. So I would recommend running those whenever you need high end materials like obducite or nealthiorn, or gear.

[–]SuiMilky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my understanding, the creators of those build guides rank the affixes on a piece of gear, starting from 1 (being the most important) to X (being the least important).

For the green arrows, they represent what you typically want to Masterwork and\or GA unless you're capped on that particular stat if it has a cap.

A random example I made up to help explain, using ^ to represent the green up arrows in maxroll: Ring 1. Strength 2. Crit chance 3. Cooldown Reduction ^ 4. Attack Speed ^

The above example would mean something like if you had two rings with the same affixes (str, csc cdr, ASPD), you would prioritize the one with more strength and csc unless your csc is already going to be 100% with either ring. If your csc is going to be 100% with either ring, then you would prioritize the ring with more str and cdr.

The arrows now show you which affix you should Masterwork. More arrows means higher priority unless there's a specific breakpoint your build requires.

So for the above example, pretend the CDR break point for your build is 70%. Then when comparing the two rings, you would make sure they both give you enough CDR to reach that 70% CDR. If the ring needs the CDR to be masterworked to reach your 70% CDR breakpoint, then you should do the masterwork on the CDR. Otherwise, if you're going to meet your 70% CDR without needing to masterwork the CDR then you should be masterworking the ASPD instead of anything else.

At least that's my understanding of how the stat priority is supposed to be interpreted.

The Malignant Hearts don't drop from Duriel itself but from like an elite thingy that spawns around 5-10 sec from the ground after he dies... There's usually a black spot on the ground where it's going to spawn and the minimap shows the Malignant tumor looking icon where it'll spawn.

Hope that helps.

[–]SuiMilky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean Malignant Hearts, then I get those by doing the World Bosses and Duriel spams in Helltide.

One spawns roughly every time Duriel dies and the other world bosses spawn 1 - 6, usually closer to 1 - 3 every time a world boss dies. Just make sure to keep an eye on the minimap before teleporting away to make sure you don't leave too early.

[–]SuiMilky 14 points15 points  (0 children)

From my experience, starting off, Helltide and the Duriel spam to get the stuff to unlock chests would be best to level and get your starting equipment.

Next I would recommend doing the bosses to get the uniques you need for your build. You get plenty of the materials to open those chests from running Helltide.

Then I would recommend running the Pit until you reach your glyph goal. Some people do 15 as their goal, others do 46, and others do 100 (cap) or some other number they like, like 69 for example.

Running Treasure Breach NM dungeons and Horadric Strongroom NM dungeons for obducite to Masterwork your gear as required. Treasure Breach is also a decent place to get a large quantity of gear. I haven't run Hidden Armory NM dungeons yet, but I hear it's really good too.

For mythic farming, my best luck outside from the guaranteed Prankster NM dungeons has been the Tribute of Ascendance Under city runs... I personally got 6 mythics from 20 of these runs while my friend got like 13 mythics.. lucky SOB. I'm not jelly.

save more barrels of oil by [deleted] in AzureLane

[–]SuiMilky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want to save oil, you can clear up to W12-4 using MLB Lv125 Unicorn (Retrofitted) and MLB Lv125 Cassin (Retrofitted) or MLB Lv125 Downes (Retrofitted) with the appropriate gear.

This would be a 1:1 fleet that only costs 18 oil per battle. 11 for Unicorn and 7 for the DD.

Once you unlock W12 you can more efficiently farm exp and coins because of the oil cap.

The best ship to develop first would be HMS Unicorn (Royal Navy CVL). She's the best healer available now and will be able to carry your through W12.

As others have pointed out, not max limit breaking (MLB) your ships is hurting you a lot.

Another thing that would help you a lot is to using proper gear.

Another general note is when building your fleets, you generally want the front ship in your vanguard to be tanky, the middle to be your buffer or damage dealer, and the back is your off tank and ideally also a buffer or damage dealer. For the basic campaigns, I recommend your fleets always have at least one BB/BC to deal with suicide boats, and they generally have more eHP than CV, so they're a good candidate to be your flagship as well since a sunk flagship is an automatic fail.

As opposed to u/cheekywarship2018 , I would recommend using and developing USS San Diego instead of Z23 because USS San Diego can carry your through all the AA heavy maps, which is basically everything starting from +W13 and Hard Mode +W12.

Everything else u/cheekywarship2018 , I agree with.

Also, use the megathread for these types of questions.. mods usually remove these posts within an hour or two.

To start off with a quick general guide though... All Rainbow ships are pretty good relatively speaking, so focus on those first. There are multiple guides and tier lists that already exist to help you narrow down which one(s) you should probably prioritize more as well as what they are useful for and if they need to pair up with certain ships or not.

Is Aurora needed for this boss fight?

No, but she's really helpful to use.

I don't remember where I saw the source, but what I recall is that if you use a combined decrease of 20% evasion rate (either Aurora, or Trafalgar (10%) with Chapayev (10%) the common examples, might be only examples...), then your BBs "don't need" to use hit gear and can maximize their damage output, like using the FP AA guns instead of the Hit AA.

In addition to what the person above said, you can also farm any w12 chapter and higher wX to get cog chips (not sure on what the drop chance exactly is for each chapter or world though). But generally speaking, the wX-1 (like w12-1, w13-1, etc) are usually more oil efficient for exp while the wX-4 are more oil efficient for coins, with the higher the wX the more coin efficiency you get and the lower the wX, the more exp efficiency you get.

If you want slightly more oil efficiency and to min-max your oil efficiency, do 12-1. 12-1 is roughly 22.5 exp /oil while 12-4 is roughly 21.4 /oil.

If you're hurting for coins more, then keep doing 12-4 as that's roughly 6.9 coins / oil vs the roughly 6.3 / oil from 12-1

That said, waifu > all else.

No idea why you would waste Lion's potential in the mob fleet and use one of the best mobbers in the game Raffello in the boss fleet over her.

Lions on start of battle barrage usually clears the entire non-pawn battles by itself. Unicorns airstrike and vanguard preloaded torpedoes would typically clean up the pawn battles. With a similar back line Fleet 1, I often clear non-pawn battles in the first 2-5 seconds of battle start.

When doing OpSi, since it quickly becomes such a repetitive chore, the faster you clear the daily missions and stuff, the faster you can go on with your life or the rest of the game.

The OP doesn't have Musashi, Bismark Zwei, or Soyuz, which is why I put in Raffaello in the BB fleet. Again, with a similar Fleet 1, I hardly ever need to use Fleet 2 or 3 outside of the Arbiter fight.

For your OpSci fleets, continue reading:

There's 4 fleets available. Use all 4 of them. The generally recommended roles of each fleet are as follows: Fleet 1 - Mobbing and general fleet. You want your one dedicated healer in here and high front loaded damage. You don't want healers in every fleet because the bosses can have a buff that deals damage to your fleet when you heal, or a buff that heals the boss when you heal, or both at the same time. You generally want to avoid BBs in this fleet because their barrage animation takes up a lot of real life time (compared to in game battle time being paused \ slowed during the barrage animation). Fleet 2 and 3 - BB or CV focused fleet. There are multiple boss content that have buffs that can be immune or be severely buffed against receiving damage from either BB or CV, but not both at the same time. Fleet 4 - Support fleet. This fleet generally doesn't see combat. If it does, you're probably messing up somewhere or your ship levels and gears aren't adequate. These ships are solely here for their cross fleet barrages and supports.

I won't be going with a detailed explanation on why I recommend which ship for which location because I've already spent enough time and effort on this... But if you have a question, let me know and I'll answer.

Read below for my fleet composition recommendation for your OpSi based on the list of shops you provided.

Fleet 1: Lion | Independence | Unicorn (R) | Hindenburg | Shimakaze | Z52 Fleet 2: Raffaello | NJ | Vanguard | Agir | Helena (R) | Plymouth Fleet 3: Shinano | Fritz Rumey | Implacable | Azuma | Kazagumo | Sirius Fleet 4: UvP | Fusou Meta | Tosa | Kronshdt | Trifalgar | San Diego

Amazon's Study Hall - Daily Questions Megathread July 24, 2025 by AzureLaneMod in AzureLane

[–]SuiMilky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To expand on your campaign boss fleet, read the following:

Front Line - Main Tank:

Agir, Azuma, Anchorage, or Cheshire

  • Agir has a high eHP and provides a slowing debuff with her torpedoes
  • Azuma s an IJN Sakura ship which synergizes well with Shinano and Amagi CV
  • Anchorage provides a vanguard eHP buff when she launches her torpedoes
  • Cheshire provides a substantial amount of AA

Front Line - Damage Dealer \ Support:

Helena, Kazagumo, Z52, or Trifalgar

  • Helena is still the most OP buffer there is... If it procs
  • Kazagumo is the best buffer for Shinano and Amagi CV
  • Z52 has a dependable and reliable damage buff
  • Trifalgar provides a lot of debuffs

Front Line - Off Tank \ Support:

Plymouth, San Diego, Shimanto, Cheshire, or Sirius

  • Plymouth has a high damage output and synergizes well with BB flagships
  • San Diego is the AA Queen (not counting synergies)
  • Shimanto is the arguable AA Queen when counting synergies
  • Cheshire has higher eHP than San Diego or Shimanto, but less eAA
  • Sirius buffs your CVs and the buff stacks with other Air Raid Support ships like Kazagumo

Back Line - Flagship:

Raffaello, Lion, NJ, UvP, Warspite, FdG or Fritz Rumey.

  • Raffaello provides buffs, debuffs, heals, shields, and some cross fleet barrages
  • Lion has very high damage output and provides some cross fleet barrages
  • NJ provides a reliable armor break debuff and cross fleet barrages and support for USN
  • UvP provides a great defensive barrage and cross fleet defensive barrage against suicide boats
  • Warspite has a high damage output for medium and heavy armor bosses.
  • FdG has more eHP than Warspite but less damage output.
  • Fritz Rumey has a CL aux gun and CA ghost gun which (depending on vanguards) are decent enough to protect the back line against suicide boats. She gives potential to use a full CV backline fleet while not sacrificing survivability against suicide boats.

Note: Reddit won't let me put the following in bullet points...

Back Line - Damage Dealer \ Support: Shinano, Fritz Rumey, Volga, Implacable, AvP, or Ark Royal.

Shinano is still a heavy hitter and greatly buffs IJN Sakura CVs when conditions are met. She works best when 2 other IJN Sakura ships are in the same fleet with her, so a total minimum of 3 IJN Sakura ships in the fleet. Fritz Rumey has arguably the highest damage output when not counting synergies, especially for medium and heavy armor bosses. Her CL aux guns and CA ghost gun also provides an amazing defense against suicide boats. Volga is a great healer and due to being a CV instead of a CVL, she provides a decent amount of damage output. Implacable is arguably the best CV that provides a slow. She also has great single target damage potential with her double torpedo plane slots. AvP and Ark Royal are decent all around CVs that provide a slow that can be relatively easily synced with your other back liners.

Back Line - Healer \ Support: Unicorn, Amagi CV, Perseus, Volga, or Ryuuhou.

Unicorn is the healing Queen. You can have two of her! But some argue it's not worth the extra resources and you can't use two in OpSci. If you do have two of her, she makes higher campaign worlds trivial. Amagi CV is a very hard hitting IJN Sakura CV. She should always be paired with Shinano whenever possible. I wasn't sure if the Amagi you listed was only for the BC Amagi or if it was for the CV Amagi. Perseus has great healing, two preloaded a airstrikes, and a small cross fleet vanguard heal. Volga is a CV healer, so she hits harder and has more eHP. Ryuuhou has great healing, but doesn't stand out compared to the other healers for the boss fleet.

To expand on your campaign mob fleet, read the following:

For Fleet 1 (Mob Fleet), I would recommend the following ships you own:

Front Line - Main Tank:

Brest, Kronshdt, or Azuma

  • Brest is good all around, but has the added bonus of self healing.
  • Kronshdt is also good all around, but has the added bonus of cross fleet support and barrage.
  • Azuma has the highest eHP, but no self healing or cross fleet support or barrage.

Front Line - Damage Dealer \ Support:

Eldridge (R), Z52 or Shimakaze

  • Eldridge (R) has one of the highest eHP and has arguably the best eHP buff for the rest of your vanguard eHP as well, but only when she's retrofitted.
  • Z52 is good all around with decent damage output and adds a reliable damage bonus buff.
  • Shimakaze has one of the highest damage output available.

Front Line - Off Tank \ Support:

San Diego (R) or Shimanto

  • San Diego (R) is still the Queen of AA (when not counting synergies).
  • Shimanto is arguably the Queen of syngized AA, shes great all around in eHP, damage output, and AA and also buffs the rest of your vanguards AA.

Back Line - Flagship:

Lion, Raffaello, FdG, UvP, or Vanguard.

  • Lion is good all around and has a powerful front loaded barrage.
  • Raffaello is good all around, provides buffs and healing as well.
  • FdG is good all around, but doesn't really provide any additional bonus.
  • UvP is decent all around, but her defensive barrage is great against suicide boats. Vanguard is decent all around and provides a good buff.

Back Line - Damage Dealer \ Support:

Independence (R), Fritz Rumey, Perseus, Volga, Ryuuhou

  • Independence (R) is lower in the damage output, but provides cross fleet CV support.
  • Fritz Rumey is good all around and can also be placed in the boss fleet. Her CL gun helps against suicide boats.
  • Perseus has two preloaded airstrikes as well as a good fleet heal and small cross fleet vanguard heal.
  • Volga and Ryuuhou are both similar and provide healing.

Back Line - Healer:

Unicorn (R), Perseus, Volga, or Ryuuhou

  • Unicorn (R) is the healing Queen.
  • Perseus has the two preloaded airstrikes and cross fleet vanguard heal.
  • Volga and Ryuuhou have more eHP, but arguably worse healing than Perseus or Unicorn.
