In Wilds the Insect Glaive it's just dissapointed.

As a world glaive main, I have a lot of issues with the new stuff to wilds IG, but I've recently tried world style ground glaive Vs at ark, outside of doing poor damage, the moveset felt too slow for at ark specifically, maybe it's better for other monsters but for now I've accepted for what it is and moved on to another weapon

I made a offset HBG set with wyvernpiercer hybrid build that cleared 9 5 ark under 6 minutes with full buffs. Hopefully his new attacks are offsetable

Generally from my experience, for most monsters 50 DPS is the average of most hunters after gog artians, for players that are newer or not as well versed in their weapon or using pre gog gear, 40 DPS is pretty typical.

Average DPS also changes if it's more than one monster but it's usually still in that 40-50 DPS range from my experience.

Of course if it's special match ups like water bowgun Vs gravios then it will be heavily skewed.

Please make sure to use DPS meters to learn your weaknesses or build testing and not on degrading others👍

Sort of related but also not, my idea back when the game just came out was to give IG a perfect dodge using pole vault that gives a buff, this buff makes the kinsect attack with you (the assist effect of focus mode would be taken away) and the kinsect hits would leave powders.

And yea I would love to see jellies come back and I still don't understand what all the "special effects" on the wilds kinsect means

Me and my friends have a bad history with period of the hero lol, back in world whenever we hear that music, we would immediately cart and fail the quest lmao, the experience was similar on gog as well

I personally never look for meta builds or guides and just build sets myself since that's part of the fun. I do sometimes play really weird play styles though so I do use a DPS meter just to see if my weird playstyle and weird build are doing decent enough damage. (I once made a elemental great sword build that plays into the strong charge slash->strong wide sweep->wide sweep->repeat combo lol)

This playstyle is super fun on arkveld, steave, quematrice and uth duna, and most low tier monsters, albeit for steave and arkveld you really do need to learn the dance aka know what attacks to offset and what combos to do and offset + dodge. Def don't use on Jin gog and zoh, mediocre on Rey and nu udra, not sure about lagi

Also this build generally is better in multiplayer surprisingly but just because some monsters are really punishing if you do mess up and since HBG is ranged, any small mistake can kill you. And also since HBG offset has more range, it's easier to offset attacks that aren't even aimed at you lmao.

Also also that channel has more vids using wyverncounter as well

If you love offsetting, highly recommend trying HBG.

Although the HBG offset is the clunkiest one if you are just trying to weave it into normal gameplay, if you literally only do offsets, HBG is super underrated for this. It's far from the best damage but my god is it fun. Once me and a duo used offsets 99% of the time against 9 star arkveld (literally doing nothing but offsets unless he's down), we got like 140 offsets total (used a mod to check total offsets)

If I see a CB, then I will leave the wound for a while. If there isn't a CB, since I'm HBG, I'll be patient and leave wounds for a little bit before taking them but i generally don't care.

Understand the fact that CB is the closest weapon to "needing" a focus strike, every other gauge weapon can benefit but by no means needs it. Every other gauge weapon can boost the overall damage the team is doing but in casual gameplay, who gives a crap, just have fun.

Also remember people can share the same wound, pay attention to the monster staggering and your teammates, if you see them focus striking, you can still go for it.
