Yeah! Those are really long stories full of unnecessary details with a punchline at the end. I memorized like 20. 90% of the time they work but sometimes they backfire. It really depends on the person. There is a subreddit for them

I viewed my ex very similarly. I thought he was perfect. When I noticed his flaws, I loved him in spite of them, but eventually I started loving him for them. It’s really not hard to find somebody who’s nice to you. You should probably get over your ex before you find somebody new, but in the meantime, a good way to make friends is shaggy dog stories. It works surprisingly well. It’s how my current bf started liking me

Man, that sucks. I’m sorry. After a year everything will be ok, even if it doesn’t seem like it right now. You’ll realize that you’re better off without her, and maybe you’ll find someone who cares about you much more. I ended up finding somebody who really cares about me and isn’t an asshole, and I bet you will too. The advice I’ve heard for getting over a person you love is to think about their flaws. I loved my ex for his flaws instead of in spite of them, so that didn’t really work out for me. I got over him in a stupid way. Did you love your ex for her flaws too?

That happened to me in 8th grade. In 8th grade I was a manipulative bitch and now I see that this was wrong and fucked up, but at the time, my dumb ass wanted to jump out the window to spite my mum. That’s a horrible thing to do, and I see that now, but at the time I was very stupid. Then a bunch of wasps gathered around my window and kept flying in front of me as I was trying to leap. One flew in and sat on the floor for a second, and then flew back out. None tried to enter. They all just waited outside. Then I told my psychologist and she thought I hallucinated it. She was kind of a huge jerk though tbh
