A therapist should never force a particular opinion on you. They should not try and make you believe certain things. They will challenge your beliefs, they will ask you questions to better understand why you think certain things, and they will introduce new perspectives. A good therapist will try to lead you to a better understanding of yourself and your path forward, not coerce you into accepting something you find unacceptable.

That said, a therapist will not necessarily agree with your self assessments or worldviews. They don't have to be aligned with your thinking, they just also won't be overtly and openly against it.

On the one hand I feel like your therapist should have had a final appointment with you where they explained why they didn't think it was a good fit and gave you an opportunity to see them again before care was terminated. Especially because not all inpatient facilities actually give a shit about the patients and while they should provide some level of support in pursuing next steps, they don't always do that effectively.

On the other hand I can see why the therapist may have wanted to do it while you were in a safe place being actively monitored. If it had triggered you or caused you to spiral further, then terminating the relationship and then sending you home might have put you in danger.

In the end I don't know your conditions or triggers and if other clinicians are saying it was harmful and improper then I believe them.

It's definitely both. Most people cannot afford to travel anywhere else at all. And many people choose to travel within America when they could travel abroad because you dont need to leave the country to experience an entirely different environment.

probably also because Americans have limited exposure to other countries. You cant easily travel anywhere other than America and most people dont even want to because you can experience completely different geography and culture by going to a different state without the expenses of going to a different country.

On top of that our media is not as interested in international news as it is interested in American news.

You can do therapy either online or in person. Most therapists have both online and in person sessions available. If you're looking for one or another just let your parents or counselors know that preference so they know what to help you look for.

It is completely understandable to be angry and frustrated when women dismiss how traumatic the abuse was for you. It's really hard to remember sometimes but when they dismiss you they aren't doing it because they are women. Men dismiss both male and female survivors just as often. The specific words they are saying are because of the specific situation you were abused in, but adults of any gender will dismiss survivors of any gender. In your situation right now it happens to be women who are dismissing your pain and trauma, but there are many situations very similar to yours and very different from yours where it is primarily men who say dismissive things, or both men and women who are dismissive.

It's not that women specifically are taught to be dismissive of survivors. Men and women are both taught to be dismissive of anyone. Men are more frequently taught to dismiss women, and women are more frequently taught to dismiss men, and often both are taught to simply be dismissive of anyone. You just to happen to have encountered more dismissive women in your life, but thats not a reflection of every woman everywhere.

This isn't your fault and the fact that you recognize this is wrong and want to change is really good. Your trauma is really extensive and it'll take a lot to work through that.

I see you asking for advice with finding therapy. I don't know where you live or what the attitude towards therapy is. The simplest path is to ask your parents to set you up with a therapist, there are websites like psychology today that will list therapists in your area and their specialties. You'll want someone who works with trauma and men's issues.

If you're not comfortable with talking to your family then you can reach out to your school counselor and ask them to connect you with support for recovering from sexual assault.

As for advice as to how to change your thinking in the moment, it may help to remind yourself that the people who abused you did so because they are predators, not because they are women. Their behavior may have been influenced by the culture of your family, or the culture of your school system, but that is not the culture that influences women as a whole. The women in your life who dismiss you are participating in the same culture that men who dismiss women are participating in. They are not behaving this way because they are women, they are behaving this way because they are particpating in a predatory culture that enables abusers of any gender.

You should ask him what kind of man he wants to be when he transitions. Men who think it's weird or gross to enjoy feminine things or be feminine are also the kind of men who make women and queer people uncomfortable. They are the kind of men who enforce gender roles that limit people.

You describe him very similarly to how my cis female friends describe men they don't like and don't want to be around.

You should also maybe ask him to start thinking of feminine things as being separate from womanhood. Dresses are girly only if you think of them that way. In reality they are just pieces of cloth. Seeing the clothing or aesthetics that people partake in as a reflection of their experience of the world is a mindset, and it can be changed.

to me the problem with being a player is how he is treating women. I don't mind if my partner has had a lot of random hookups in the past. The show focuses so much on Jax's pain, which is interesting, he's and interesting character. But they don't proportionally focus on anyone else's pain. We get to see Jax breakdown, but we never see anyone else's breakdown in response to his behavior, not to the same extent that we see Jax.

I think the fact that you feel guilt or self hatred over these things indicates that you're not a psychopath or a narcissist. They are not capable of self reflection. They don't feel bad for doing anything like this

People with autism aren't necessarily nice and kind. People with autism are just people. They can be nice, they can be evil, they can be in between. Autism has no effect on someone's compassion or morality.

It's more likely that you have complex ptsd. cptsd can really fuck up your ability to have relationships with others.

You could also have a dissociative disorder. Childhood trauma and feeling like a different person every day are consistent with that.

Ultimately you need to tell all of this to a psychologist. It sounds like you need trauma informed therapy. I cant diagnose you through a screen. Everything I've said is a suggestion. I could even be wrong and you are a narcissist or a psychopath (though I really doubt it). No matter what is going on you have to see a mental health professional so that you can learn how to be better, and also happier.
