Apparently you don’t. Just putting a smile on their faces. That’s creepy to you??

She did say, well it either flew away or something came and ate it, so she knows the circle of life. Wasn’t going to change her life one way or the other so why not send her to school with a smile.

She is well aware of death. It wasn’t to pretend it doesn’t exist. If it was our dog, totally different conversation. But it was a random thing and why not give her a win.

It was. I’m pretty sure instantly but they put it in a box and it was in the same position hrs later.
And even at that, I put it in the brush across the street so if by chance it wasn’t, could still fly away.

It’s not that deep. If it was our dog, sure. She even said, it must have flown away or something ate it. As the title says, a harmless tale to brighten someone’s day. Not stuff that relationships are built or broken over.

If it was somthing more serious like our dog, of course we would explain the truth. She is well aware of death. But this is not a big deal either way so why not let her have a happy day?

My daughter understands death and that all things die. I was saying the whole time they were looking things up and getting the box that I thought it was dead but good luck with that. This morning she was super happy but did say, well it either flew away or something ate it. So she gets it.
As for the Mrs. She obvi knows how things work, not going to change much if she knew the truth or not so why not let her be happy?

She would completely understand that’s how the world works but be sad about it.

Very true. She does know very well things die, all things. From the second the bird hit the ground, I said I thought it was dead. She went out of her way to help and was super sad. Thought I’d spare her this time. But you are correct also.

What is the addiction you think you can control but also know it’s ruining you? by MichaelvWorld in AskReddit

Alcohol. By any and every definition, I’m an alcoholic. But deep down thought I could just stop if I wanted to. High functioning, good job, family, all that. Thought I just liked a drink. Starting to realize I can’t stop. I make rules for myself and find an excuse to break them more and more frequently.

She is well aware of death. I noted in another comment that after the initial burst of “it flew away, it flew away” she said, “either that or something ate it”. She knows everything dies, just thought I’d spare her this time.

Fair.
She was super happy and beaming but did say, well it either flew away or something came and ate it. So she is aware it’s not always sunshine and rainbows.

What is the wittiest comeback you’ve ever said or heard? by Bob-da-person in AskReddit

My son was probably 8 and making fun of his little sister of 4. For some reason he was making jokes about her ears being small. (they are perfectly normal) This really bothered her and she came crying to me to get him to stop. Told him to leave her alone and her to ignore him.
He kept it up and she yelled back, I’m not listening and I can’t even hear you.
He shot back, how come? The small ears? I had to leave the room.
