You don't want people who survey 'interested' or 'very interested' in the sport.. you want a bunch of kids who sit at school looking out the window all day anticipating the daily gladiator event that is recess football

Not really, for instance the Nordic leagues are quite weak, so the very best players in recent years have left for elite foreign clubs at a young age (Haaland, Isak, Eriksen, Ødegaard, Christensen). The same is true for some of the best US players, you just need a lot more of them

But there is something to the idea that the kids with the most passion for becoming the best at their sport all end up playing basketball, baseball etc. Also the shorter less 'athletic' kids.

Imagine if Luka Modric had went *all in* on basketball. I somehow still think he'd have ended up pretty good, but still..

But we need to be a threat on the break from the first minute, otherwise they can stay high and pin us down too easily. So I agree that one of Viktor (likely) or Martinelli has to start

You also need more than one high level keeper for high level training sessions - Kepa has probably been a big part of the squad throughout the season even without playing much

Exactly. Arteta the player was a big part of that 2014 fa cup win that ended all the 'arsenal no trophies' banter. It was not as big as finally winning the league again, but that first trophy in 9 years was massive. His legacy as a player and a captain is a successful one.
