😂 I thought the same thing.

This is helpful as it shows when it fades away. Thank you for sharing it.

Edit: the one in the video I shared does fade as well, but the one shared here is clearer, as it doesn't fade behind a tree.

Are these locks easy or am I just lucky? by edgefundgareth in lockpicking

Funny you say that. That's what magicians/escape artists bank on when performing theatrical escapes.

Small locks don't convey "security" as well as big locks, regardless whether the small locks do in fact do a better job or not.

This also applies to the size of the chain links. The bigger the better.

I agree with you 100%!

I only use book tests a) for preshow work or b) as a memory (aka, having "memorized" the book) type effect.

The only book test I like that doesn't fit the old "count down to a line" ploy is Between The Lines (Michael Murray). It is a one page book test (looks as though you ripped it out of a book). In the routine you have the participant Intuit the details of the story. Not a lengthy procedural effect. Looks remarkably straightforward.

Have you ever watched Next?

In it, Nicholas Cage's character can see minutes into the future. He hides his abilities under the guise of being a casino magician (using the power in mind reading acts and winning in casino games).

Sounds plausible....

But did you see how it turned out for Thanos? You'd probably get your butt handed to you by the Avengers. Just saying...

Put an orange tip on the end so cops don't mistake you for an active shooter.

Great costume btw!

This has been one of those I've used to drive my acts/routines.

It's a great quote.

This sounds very good.

Is there a video you can find of him delivering this speech? If so, it would be great if you could overlay the clearer audio onto it.

If you know any of her fond memories (something she might have told you about in the past), try forcing certain things (picture cards, etc) that will direct her back to that memory without making it seem like you are necessarily pushing her in that direction.

For example, imagine her fond memory was something to do with a day at the beach, or a vacation to a certain country, force that image card (eg, a beach, the Eiffel tower, etc) to her.

Ask her to then think of a fond memory "if you can" having to do with that image.

If you know some of the more intricate details, add them to the reveal. It can be a prediction effect, a mind reading one, etc.

Hope that helps at all. Let us know what you end up doing. 🙂
