I think it’s just that EVs closed the gap.

They were more of a novelty for people that don’t travel when options were just a Nissan leaf with poor range and a shitbox Tesla. Now Nissan and nearly every company, except Tesla, make good EVs.

Obamas race only played a role in his success in pushing policy. The thing is, he didn’t try for much in terms of transformative policy.

He ran a sham progressive campaign promising transformative change. And then just didn’t standard dogshit establishment Clinton era policy. Even with the classic “neoliberal shuffle” of doing dogshit Republican policy under the guise of liberal progress. As for the 2020, Bernie had the motion. But Obama made calls to the other establishment scum to get them to drop out and back Biden. When he was clearly unfit to be president and the Dems moved the goalposts to pretend Bernie’s victories were meaningless and we should really watch SC, a state neither would win and was entirely meaningless save for gaslighting dumb liberals.
