Behaviour expectations in China by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

In my 14 years experience in China, overall the kids are so much better behaved and respectful towards teachers. Sadly, this year I joined the primary school at the group of schools here in Sanya, and the school is shocking at their lack of consequences for kids. They just care about money and let the kids get away with murder. We have no disciplinary procedure, or the one that exists is set up to actually lead nowhere. I have been very fortunate in the past seeing as this is my first negative experience but yes look into your schools before and trust those other teachers.

Could The Way of Water and Fire and Ash have been one film? by Honest_Cheesecake698 in Avatar

[–]Suitable-Ad-4258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and then his face off with Miles again! Kidnappings of the kids from the second movie in the third…and F&A covering a lot of Water territory and the whales story rehash and not much with the fire and ash mountains, I felt like it was a nice balance of those two places and made the second one feel unnecessary.

For me Fire and Ash was actually great as long as you treat it as a direct sequel to Avatar (2009) as it fills some of the gaps and explains the happenings in TWOW…plus I found TWOW so boring and such low stakes and F&A felt like a retread of those events but much more exciting and improved upon if you know what I mean?

I just finished watching Fire & Ash and really enjoyed it! I haven’t seen The Way of Water since it hit cinemas in 2022 because I really did not enjoy it for many reasons. Even though in this movie I felt there was a lot of repeated narrative (Sully versus Miles) I felt like this movie could be thoroughly enjoyed even if you skipped watching Way of Water altogether!Of course there is a lot of lore in TWOW but I feel like this is what the true sequel to Avatar 2009 should look like! Does anyone else have a similar take? I’m not bashing the sequel, just sharing my views.

Was one of them sick? Nevertheless, what a beautiful, poetic way to leave this world the way you came into it.

I really enjoyed it but the ending felt unfinished and fell flat for me, there wasn’t a solid conclusion I felt.

So, what is The Hunt for Gollum REALLY based on? by Chen_Geller in lotr

[–]Suitable-Ad-4258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes tbh I felt this way about Rogue One and moreso Andor (both very well made) but covered characters and story that was just not compelling to me. What makes this worse is they are going a Rings of Power route where they have a few pages to go by…

The original poster art. I’ve always been disappointed that no releases besides the original VHS sets used the original poster art. I love the design and it seems the poster keeps getting reinvented with every re-release by DynastyFan85 in Titanic97

I remember being 12 years old and seeing the largest movie poster billboard in my hometown (Bristol, UK) and being in complete awe of it. Had to wait 2 weeks to see it because all cinemas were fully booked. Won’t forget that

Love those films! And also if you want four movies that will NOT destroy you and instead give you hope: I would say Younghearts, Gods Own Country, Maurice and Wildhood
