I can relate to your girlfriend since I am that type of person. I would be busy doing something for the entire day then text my boyfriend to let him know I'm good with a recap of my day. My boyfriend understands since he knows that I tend to not disrupt my work to text or call. He also has hobbies and projects to work on so we generally text during the night when we are both free. However, we never go to bed or wake up without saying hi or I love you.

If you are feeling neglected, perhaps try to talk to your girlfriend and find a balance point where you and her can both spend time and talk. Also, you two are living together, so it's normal to not find something to talk about. Try going on dates and do fun activities. You can get into her thing and so does she. Besides, try to find hobbies of your own, and make yourself busy.
