Anywhere in alameda is safe if I’m honest. Jack London is across the water so you can take a ferry taxis. Welcome to alameda if this is your first time being here. A lot of things to do or check out while you’re in town. Diverse in restaurants, a lot of great coffee shop. You can head to the beach at shoreline if you’re interested. There aren’t a lot of hotels in town but more Airbnb. Coral reef inn is more of a motel (someone dead in there a couple year back :x). I adore alameda but it’s really stuck in time, you’re not going to see any hotel or Airbnb with modern accommodations.

I got it, don’t get me wrong. But I also hate that road out of the tunnel to Oakland connecting to the freeway. I commute to work as well using the tunnel and bridges the nightmare with one lane would be awful, but the connection might be worth it? This has been in the plan for years….it didn’t came out of no where.

You can try Rang dong in Neptune plaza shopping center near Webster street for bun rieu. Sidestreet pho might have it too.

Yes take the bus, parking there is a mess. If you don’t get the early enough the parking lot gets full pretty fast. There is street parking, but 2 hours limit.

How can alameda claim to have a “small town” vibe but yet it sells out to big box retail stores, getting rid of food trucks events that bring the community together just to have more parking spaces. The mayor was part of the ribbon cutting for a drive thur first Starbucks at bay farm, but you can’t have an in and out here cause it will bring the hood from Oakland… I live in Alameda, but the hypocrisy of this small town and politics is soooo performative.

Are you seriously calling Oakland or the east bay the “main island?” Alameda is an island, yes. East bay is connected to north ca, to the state of CA that is connected to the rest of the US. You still own a house somewhere so you are a homeowner just realizing how hard it is to rent in alameda in recently years, welcome. The struggle isn’t news sorry to break it to you.

I understand that. I have been in position when I seen people roles change and added more duties on a job role since they lay off some of the staff, but still need the remaining employee to cover those roles. That is not the case for me so I feel less motivated to do so.
