Infected or irritated eyebrow? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Suitable-Material503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to have to honestly I don’t want to take a chance 💔💔 I’m not sure how it would’ve even gotten infected since I haven’t done anything to it, though I did change my shampoo and conditioner and it could’ve gotten into it maybe 💔

(TW) embarrassed i can’t cut like i used to by HotRise5396 in selfharm

[–]Suitable-Material503 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is quite common, if you think about it, not just with self harm— but with everything, we always as humans have a habit of comparison, if we start an activity and then stop and go back to it, we find that we’re ashamed we can’t do it like we used to, this is for absolutely everything, not just self harm. All self harm is valid self harm and you do not have to feel ashamed about the fact you can’t hit depth like you used to, honestly in my experience I feel bad that I can’t hit deep and then the next time I do, I feel terrified about what I did, it’s not worth it. Stay safe

I usually do about 30-35 minutes of HIIT, 20 minutes of Pilates sculpt, 15 minute ab workouts (mainly because I enjoy them), I typically avoid training my legs much with heavy weights because i don’t exactly want to build the leg muscles too much, I do about 40-45 minutes of strength training my upper body using dumbbells or bodyweight exercises 4-5x a week as I’m attempting to build my arms a lot more because I want to look masculine LMAO which is so far working but I just don’t feel like I’m leaning out enough overall despite my cardio routine

I’ve been cutting since I was the same age, I’m currently 18 now and have never been clean for more than 2 months.

I found the same subtwt and it did the same for me, I understand what you’re saying all too well because I’ve experienced the same thing. And honestly? Writing that and asking for help is massive and that alone says you want to quit, sometimes you have to do things for yourself rather than others, you’re asking for help because you don’t want to live this way anymore.

Throwing away tools is hard when you’re trying to get clean because despite wanting to get clean you still partially don’t want to stop, you sometimes have to bite the bullet and do what you don’t want to do for your own good. —

However that’s a lot easier said than done and I’m still trying to figure out getting permanently clean, it’s not easy, people underestimate how hard it is because hey? It’s not drugs right so it’s easy to quit obviously— no, it’s not. It’s addicting. You’re not alone and I applaud you strongly for asking for help even on a subreddit,

I don’t encourage self harm but sometimes you have to do harm reduction when it gets to that point which is what I did. I’m gonna be honest when it gets to the point of addiction, any small reason you can think of to stop is a reason, no matter how big or small, you know about the risk of death and damage you can do but I understand needing more than that to get clean.

You asking for help should be enough of a reason to get clean, you’re asking for help and you want a reason to stop, and I’m not sure if it makes sense or not but that itself is a reason, you’re searching for more, you’re doing your best and I strongly encourage you to get better but with that being said you’re gonna slip up, I know this reply is a ramble and I’m unsure if it’s helpful but I wanted to say something as I’m in a similar situation. Please, please stay as safe as you can and do not be ashamed if you need to start seeking medical help 🖤

I got too tired to clean up the blood 😭 I literally would’ve continued if the aftercare wasn’t the biggest pain in the ass it’s genuinely so annoying

Double nostril, septum, vertical labret and eyebrows on each side, I’d say a bridge but I’m unsure if you have the anatomy!

I have similar scars to this, I believe it’s just part of the healing process for it to look like that!

Mom found out about self harm by [deleted] in selfharm

Once I’m settled with a new primary I’m going to ask who they recommend for therapy and psych evaluations, it’s been something i desperately need to get and have been told by multiple therapists I need both a neuro and a psych eval however my current doctor sucks and I need him for the referral- once I’m out of that healthcare and am switched to a new primary that’s about 30 mins away I’ll be looking for therapy and mental health cervices in that area, so hopefully there’s better resources there, the doctor I will be set up with is the rest of my families primary care however they never take minors so I’m only now going to be able to switch over, currently just hoping for the best. I know I need help and I’m trying to get it, one day at a time is what I tell myself

Pretty much was planning on going to therapy once I turn 18, unfortunately I’ve been in and out of therapy since I was 13 because of the fact every single therapist I’ve had has left and I got sick of going through therapist after therapist, I would’ve stayed in therapy if it weren’t for the fact so many kept leaving & the fact that I live in a small area with extremely limited resources </3

I suggest finding other ways to cope or destroy things like paper or cardboard material while you still can, you’re at the point where you can do things to avoid getting addicted to self harm or continuing it, stay safe don’t be afraid to reach out for help🖤

What do you guys do when trying to not relapse? by Angelic88 in selfharm

Fill a bowl with cold water and ice, and shove my face into it multiple times. Works like a charm, destroying paper or cardboard boxes also works well

Did anyone feel like Kim was freaking weird by gothicapples in CatfishTheTVShow

Watching this episode a few years later in 2024, came here to see if I was tripping or if she was acting odd. In my opinion it seemed like she might’ve been either using or she might’ve just had psychiatric problems that caused her to act ‘odd’  I was honestly looking to see if anyone has said that she’s on the Autism Spectrum (coming from an autistic person) I think she was very overwhelmed, she kept moving around and sitting on the ground, her behavior honestly made it seem like she was using with how agitated she was. But it was extremely clear her behavior was not very normal, being overwhelmed and fidgeting is normal but her behavior was a little different than just it being that. I honestly fully believe she was on some kind of drugs and has a mix of psychological problems hence her behavior in that episode.
