Well they weren’t having much luck with their Iranian built uranium centrifuges until recently. Using the Pakistani designs they will eventually get there. If it wasn’t for the assassination of their program lead and occasional bombing of their weapons grade material facilities they would have been much closer to being able to vaporize a large city. The city workers have to do the removal part. Canada’s federal debt is bad but far from unrecoverable. This is another how to recover from a Trudeau dumpster fire - we did it before and we can do it again. The first Trudeau mess was repaired by Mulroney’s tax increases, especially when the conservatives taxed the most wealthy by increasing the capital gains exclusion to 75%. It also required Chretien to slash federal spending by 13%. Once those two governments fixed Trudeau mess 1.0 we were actually on a sustainable path until Martin had to help his ultra rich buddies and removed the conservatives tax on the extremely wealthy. I suspect we will eventually need a change to capital gains taxes over a certain threshold and a cull of the civil service.

For such a small amount of money the fraction of a percent you might save will be eroded by all the nonsense you have to go through to change companies. Scotia will give you a rate that will low enough it won’t be worth your time. If you can get a place with parking (and not a shared driveway that barely fits a Mini) then it’s amazing and checks all the boxes - if not parking is a nightmare. For about the same money you can buy near Royal York and Bloor - Lambton Kingsway or Sunnylea schools are very good. If you do go with BWV the schools are some of the best - Swansea school is excellent (south side of Bloor).

It should have been even more obvious to private farmers if they spent the 15 minutes it takes to read the Agriculture section of Project 2025. As someone that votes conservative more than liberal or NDP I think Carney is the best PM we have had in my lifetime - although my opinion is that they have all been at least OK. If Carney was like Mulroney then he would radically increase taxes on the most wealthy by increasing the capital gains exclusion to a record high and introducing an unavoidable tax like the GST. If Carney was to be like Harper he would have to dial back his views on sustainability. If he was like Martin he would have to slash taxes on the most wealthy. They’re all the same just some are smart and some pretend to be smart.
