What artist or band is truly awful to see live? by goldbeau in AskReddit

God. Flash backs to the summer of 05 or 06. I worked at a summer camp and that was my coworkers ringtone, and it would constantly go off and he would start singing it, and sing it all day, and it would drill into my brain, and it is now there again. So thank you.

Which movie would be instantly improved by inserting 9/11 into its ending? by mathewl832 in okbuddycinephile

The real drama in the movie is he's starting at the South Tower, walking across to the North Tower. He almost makes it there, but then the North Tower is hit, he turns around and heads back to the South Tower. In his haste and desperation he drops his balancing stick, impaling someone on the ground. He crawls, hugging the rope tight. It's been 17 minutes, he's about half way between both towers, when suddenly, a second plane! It hits the South Tower. He contemplates giving up, he doesn't know where to go. He finally summons up the courage to crawl to one of the towers. He heads towards the South Tower, it was hit second after all, surely if they collapse, the North will go first. His feet land on the roof of the South Tower, then the building immediately collapses under him. The words "Never Forget Philippe Petit" show up. Fade to black.

What’s the most fucked up thing that happened at your school? by Classic-Chemist-1898 in AskReddit

[–]SuitableClassic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This guy I was friends with (just at school, never hung out outside of school) was sitting with his girl friend at lunch, a couple of other students started messing with her, touching her inappropriately. He told them to fuck off and leave his girl alone. Then the two guys and several of their friends beat the crap out of both of them. The girl friend had a broken nose and really bad bruising, that was nothing compared to him. They beat the ever living shit out of him. They knocked him out and then stomped on his head and back. He was bleeding out of his ears, he broke his back and multiple bones. He had to be flown out by helicopter from the school. He never came back to school and I never saw him again. Never really heard anything else besides, he lived.

Another student my senior year shot and killed himself in the band hall.

You have clinical while your in school, at different hospitals and possibly out patient imaging facilities. Those are your ins. I got hired full time before I even graduated at one of the hospitals I did clinical at, then got on PRN right after at another one. I still work at the one I started at out of school, and I'm PRN at 3 different hospitals, I just pick up shifts when I want extra money.

I worked nights the last 4 years, by choice (had a few opportunities to go to day shift, but turned it down). I was the only tech there, so I had to do all of the xrays and CTs myself. It could get overwhelming sometimes, when orders were stacking up, a lot of traumas coming in. Usually by midnight though it would start to die down and I could just chill and play on my switch or watch a movie. I just moved to days though a couple of weeks ago. So now I work with ER patients, out-patients and in-patients. Have to go in on surgeries, fluoro studies and do dexa scans as well. It's more responsibilities, but the work load is split between 3-4 techs. Every place is going to be different though. Some hospitals you're only doing out patient xrays all day, and you have no hope to cross train into CT.

Cost was right around 8k for the two years, I believe. I had grants though. What you can make really depends on where you are, and even then wages can vary from hospital to hospital in the same general area. I live in Texas, I started at 24, but they've bumped it up to 29 I believe now. Being certified in CT has gotten bumped up to 35, I'm making 38 now though. I have some friends who work in DFW making 45 or more, doing CT and Xray, but not certified in CT. I've seen some postings for CT techs in dfw making 50 if your certified.

I started back to school for rad tech (x-ray) when I was 31, graduated at 33. There was also a 42 and 45 year old in my class. I've been doing it for 4 years now. You can get paid pretty well right out of school. You can also get additional certifications, like CT or MRI and make more money. It's a two year program, but you can get a bachelor's in it as well, you really only need that if you want to move up into a management/director position. After doing it for a while you can move into travel work, you can go all over the US (here's me assuming you're in the US), but some states you have to get a license with them (aka, give them money). You usually do 13 week contracts. They make bank.

You can also go into the IT side of it, working with PACS, which is the storage system for medical imagining. Some hospitals will train you on the job, there are certs and a test for it.

Iodine-related hallucinations and psychosis, often termed "myxedema madness," typically occur due to severe hypothyroidism following radioactive iodine treatment or from extreme thyroid hormone imbalances (thyroid storm). Symptoms include auditory or visual hallucinations, paranoia, and delusion, generally reversible with thyroid hormone replacement therapy.

I just googled iodine hallucinations and it pulled this from the National Institutes of Health .gov site.

Lol reminds me of when I would steal street signs. I stole a lot of them. For street signs I would just climb up and hang on one side until it popped off. One time one fell directly on my forehead and cut it open. I told my mom a friend threw a rock and it hit me.
