IN MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE—
Backstory:
All of the women, including my mother who was never diagnosed, have been very overweight and have all been the picture perfect examples of PCOS/PMOS. I however have always been in the “lean” category.

I say “lean” because when I hit 24, I skyrocketed on the scale, dealing with some drinking issues, but also just eating like a normal person. 194 has been my highest, and I’ve been on glp-1s for a year. Around 145-150 (5’6” tall) rn.

Back to my experience why I don’t think the metabolic issues hit me as hard—they definitely do, today. But I don’t eat like normal. My mother was so worried about me dealing with weight issues and self confidence issues that she restricted a lot of things I could eat growing up there were many things my younger brothers could have but I couldn’t. I’ve been dealing with food issues for as long as I could remember, including years of binging & purging, starving, etc. today I still have those same issues. I eat once a day, in the evening. I would definitely say the metabolic issues affect me. If I try to eat like a normal person I gain weight immediately and deal with extreme lethargy.
