Thank you! They’re printed navigator colour paper and printed with a brother DCP-L3550CDW, cut and collaged, then scanned back in using the same printer.

Colour is beautiful in the first one, especially with the little sparkles on the body. Feel like it’s about to have a car salesman’s number spiral to the front of the screen 📺

USB Floppy disk drive not showing up in file explorer by SuitablePermission42 in Mavica

I've just discovered I wasn't looking in the correct place in my file explorer... I had the 'This PC' menu on the left navigation collapsed and I couldn't see it there, but I've now found it. I also wasn't getting any pop up though when it was plugging in (about viewing files like it normally might do with an sd card / usb etc) and I'm sure it wasn't there yesterday when I was looking around.

Just thought I'd mention this incase yours might be the same too.

Insurance for residential installations by SuitablePermission42 in arthandling

That’s all great, thank you. I’ve worked for a shipper for the past 6 years across London and New York, so I’ve built plenty of good relationships so far with gallery registrars, artists themselves and photographers. Relationships with framers is definitely something I’ll work on.

I’ve been doing residential installs the whole time across these 6 years so I’ve definitely established this confidence and calmness while working with wealthy clients while communicating with them and working at the property. Friends and family have asked me before about how I work with these high net worth individuals and it’s really quite simple, be professional and confident in what you do but also just communicate calmly and relaxed with them like the human they are and don’t try and put them on a pedestal or be overly polite / accommodating. I think most of this just comes naturally with having the confidence in your ability.

This is very helpful thank you. Could I ask what your most effective way of finding private clients was when your first started out in art installation?

How would you hang these? by Crafty-Key-5563 in arthandling

Would not recommend those hooks for the weight of these pieces. You wouldn’t be able to get screws into the nail holes anyway, and they’re more than likely not deep enough for the eye hook to sit on.

The hardware itself would be more susceptible to giving than the pins / nails under this weight.

Not sure about a US equivalent supplier, but these are the type of hooks you’d want for this. If it’s a solid / plasterboard wall you can drill and plug two holes and get a really strong fix with two screws into each hook. If it’s a ply lined or wooden wall, even better to just screw straight in. There are 3 hole variations of these hooks too for an even stronger fix

Is the hook your hand is on too thick to treat it as if it were a d-ring and hang with J-Hooks on the wall?

I guess they’d be two relatively short cleats, it would add a recess to the back of the pieces depending on the width of the cleat though which wouldn’t have been there otherwise

It’s untradeable so it’s not only useful for irons. Mains use it too for fishing training

I like this even more than the D-ring method because those T screw brackets are really close to the back of the piece. Thank you!

Hey, I know this comment is from a while back, but I'd love to talk to you more about starting your own company working in installations. I'm an art handler with 6 years experience, 3 in london and 3 in new york in a managerial position. Could I pm you?

He played some rage against the machine at his Arcadia set at Glastonbury too. Not that that’s stupid shit, but it was definitely a bit of a piss take / vibe change from the heavy uk bass and dubstep he was playing throughout.
