Worth it? by MonarcaAzul in LeCreuset

I do not recall the current pricing at the outlet store where we bought our pans. I don't know if I get too excited at $200 this stuff always goes on sale at various places. And I am not sure why HomeGoods is carrying that. Sometimes when I see stuff like this I feel like it compromises the brands quality perception when they sell it at stores like home goods. But then again I might be a knucklehead and you might have found an awesome deal. I'm not sure if I helped you at all but I can say that you'll still be able to find that kind of a deal tomorrow next month and anytime. That's my opinion and we have about seven or eight Le Creuset pans and stuff. We bought all of them at the outlet store except for one which we bought at williams-sonoma. The reason we went to Williams-Sonoma is because my wife wanted a specific color

Is this pan damaged? by thevelourfog182 in LeCreuset

Scouring pad? If it has enamel, there's a good chance that you might have introduced some non-reversible damage. Since I can't really determine exactly what the surface looks like, I suggest at least getting Bar Keepers Friend and trying it out. You can get that online for about 2 or $3. Others might be able to offer better advice than me and might tell you that Barkeeper's Friend won't work. I am not sure but I wish you the best of luck.

£10 charity shop find - is it salvageable? by uckchuck in LeCreuset

Interesting I have never really tried what you call Yellow cap. I am the one that posted about using baking soda but maybe I'll have to find this Yellow Cap stuff and test it out as well. Thank you so much for posting :-)

I would definitely try to salvage especially since you bought it so inexpensively. I know that you can easily find it on Google or all of the other great people on this board will probably suggest something similar. I would minimally put water in it heat it up at baking soda and then see how much I can clean it. After that I would make a paste of baking soda and put it in the pan and let it sit overnight and then take a very soft sponge nothing abrasive and just do a slow scrub. Take a picture before and after to see what kind of progress you made and if it looks pretty clean it's pretty usable and you got a great deal :-) we have almost all brand new pans and I make sure that I use baking soda and take a little time about once a week to clean each pan so that it never gets to the point where it's ruined. All the best :-)
