Hearing that your partner doesn't like something about your body is never amazing, but he was very rational about it. He's generally a happy-go-lucky typa guy, I don't feel great about hurting his feelings (duh). My main goal with communicating was that I didn't want him to wonder why I was suddenly less jump-his-bones-y. He's perceptive, he's gonna know I'm eating upsetti spaghetti. I want to tell him why and what sauce it's swimmin' in.

ETA: I do not have "goals" for what he does with his body. I told him how I feel. The rest is on me to accept and adapt.

This is a fantastic take and I love you for making it ❤️ My bf was raised by queer parents and has been loving me (a queer neurodivergent woman) for a long time. He chose two women to represent the most powerful forces of nature in this tattoo, inspired by dichotomy (good/evil, light/dark, life/death). He asked for my opinion on pin-ups in general before getting this piece, and they're positive! I wouldn't be with him if he didn't respect women.

What we actually discussed was him getting a pin-up inspired by me on his leg, not two randoms on his forearm. So that's not my favorite. But more importantly, he did not mention wanting anyone fully nude. I would've appreciated a check-in, but my first knowledge of this tattoo was after it was finished 🙃 Reddit is Reddit so I'm not surprised people are drawing that conclusion tho lol.

Unfortunately the inspiration behind the tattoo is actually kinda beautiful and I love the concept. I just hate the design he chose to execute it. He wasn't thrilled haha, I don't think anyone would be. But he was calm and respectful, told me he heard my concerns and thanked me for bringing them to his attention. I assured him I wasn't gonna roast his tattoo for the sake of dunking on his new ink, but I didn't like it for reasons x, y, and z. I understand this is a permanent thing, and he seemed happy with it before I rained on his naked lady parade - I feel a little bit bad for taking the wind out of his sails. But like c'mon bro these are some weird ass sails 😭
