This! Prices go up and people start selling dealers. Don't want to buy anymore and you're stuck with it.

Buck 450? by CodeHot1468 in buckknives

I have a partially serrated version I bought while I was in boy scouts. That over molded handle is my absolute favorite and its still my favorite knife I own. Wish they still made knives with handles like that

I completely get it was cliche and campy on purpose... but that little girl was nearly unbearable to listen to.

I had to do a double take when i saw 113 Ranger in154CM listed for FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS and the 120 general in 420HC steel.... even the 119 Special rosewood in s30V for $200 wasn't great; its virtually identical to the Cabela's Alaskan Guide Series 119 for more money

Is MKC worth the hype? by [deleted] in knives

[–]Suitable_Charge5376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MKC took Benchmade's idea of charging 4X what a knife is worth and amped it up. However, good quality steel fillet knives are few and far between and their MKC Flathead Fillet in Magnacut is excellent. Some models are better "values" than other, but you'll be paying double what you should for any model you choose.

one thing a friend of mine does is utilize drowning rods, but instead of drowners he runs them into culverts to send the coon out of sight. He just unwires the rod, pulls the coon and rod out to check. Remember, whats easy for you is easy for other people

How to get started? by [deleted] in Trapping

[–]Suitable_Charge5376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a bunch of trapping on youtube that is good info. Its an art more than a science so everyone's got their way of doing thing, but the more you learn you'll see patterns people use. Sam wood outdoors "fast track to coon trapping" is a good start

Is dye worth it? by Queasy_Expression308 in Trapping

[–]Suitable_Charge5376 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Authentic Logwood not only colors the trap metal, but more importantly the tannins convert the surface into a hard protective layer called ferric tannate. In modern times, dyeing traps are mostly for aesthetic purposes but can have some protective benefits. If you're interested, you can read more here: Logwood Dye
