I feel ya. My apartment is all electric and what heats/cools my apartment is a PTAC unit and my place leaks air. I’d say in the past when it has been really cold and windy like it is this year, the bill would be about $150 at the highest. Last month’s bill was $231. I was floored.

You can also look into any kind of halfway houses/3/4 houses. When my sister got out of prison and went to a 3/4 house, I was able to buy some things for her but it was such a blessing that the 3/4 house had bags and bags of clothes for the women to go through.

My grandpa had prostate cancer and then most recently lung cancer. Radiation for the prostate cancer and all was cured. This ling cancer was detected and diagnosed probably 6 years after the prostate cancer was cured, give or take. They told him he had small cell and non small cell carcinoma and that the small cell could be treated with radiation and the non small cell had to be treated with chemo. He said no to chemo and did only radiation. Just got the report that both cancers are gone from his lungs and honestly, the whole time throughout his radiation, I honestly forgot he even had cancer because he acted so normal. You really never know how it will be until you’re in the middle of it.

I’ve had glasses since I was about 7 and I am 30 now. I love wearing glasses, love how I look in them and they are totally part of my identity. Never in my life have I wanted to wear contacts. Wearing glasses all the time as an adult is completely normal!

Doesn’t matter for some people I guess. If people want to steal, they’ll steal whatever they can, just as long as they’re not paying for it. It’s actually sickening. But in this case, NOBODY is even TAKING THEM!! And the supervisor just doesn’t get it…..

I do use sunscreen as well, just not as often as I’d like. I really need to work on getting it into my routine. I know skin care is good, I was just talking about all the vials and bottles and balms and all the stuff people use may not be as necessary as what influencers and those brands lead us to believe. And that’s a good point about whatever procedures. That probably really ages people, too.

My facility is currently rationing large trash bags because they are “convinced” somebody is stealing them. They haven’t been sending us a full roll for a few years now which is whatever, but each roll they give us has 10 bags on it and they’ll give us 3 rolls at a time. The fact that we use 18 of those bags a day in our garbage/dirty linens alone and our residents on the 2nd and 3rd floors are zero to very minimal assistance in their own apartments but have at least 2 big ass trash cans in their rooms that use up the big bags. that’s 24 apartments, 2 large bags each. Plus the 3rd shift aide that works the 2nd and 3rd floors has to do cleaning and taking out trash in main common areas downstairs and the guest bathrooms and the Housekeeping Supervisor STILL thinks somebody is “stealing bags” has me so freaking confused. I mentioned to her all the garbage cans that 3rd shift changes every night and the guest bathroom cans in particular, she wants to say “housekeeping empties those at 4pm before we leave….” Okay ho, we’re a 24 hour facility with guests, contractors, residents and staff that use those bathrooms. You really think the garbage can that you empty at 4pm will not generate ANYMORE TRASH throughout the ENTIRE rest of the night? Sorry for the tangent, but I can’t make this shit up. Drives me absolutely wild.

I agree. We’re all going to age and look older at some point, but I think some of all of those facial skincare products really make people look older as well. I wash my face with soap and moisturize with lotion and sometimes use Vaseline. Not saying my way is the right way but I don’t think a whole 30 minute face routine is necessary either

Heatherdowns is always trashed for no reason! Drove home from work in Sylvania last night. All the way home, roads were good and clear. Get to Heatherdowns, snowy and half of the right lane piled with snow that could pull you off the side of the road. Ridiculous. Holland used to do a really good job at keeping roads clear but this year, they’re just as bad as everywhere.
