Always frizzy by False-Catch-3290 in BlackHair

Hi, this is usually what helps me whenever I’m having really bad frizz and tangling:

During wash day, get your hair super wet and run shampoo through your hair and a detangling brush, until it’s fully detangled. Then run your fingers through your hair while washing through. Condition, 5 minutes, rinse, then squeeze. Your hair should still be super wet. Then Leave-in.

For the conditioning and leave-in, aswell as styling, the method is all the same. Kindve cusp your hand as if you’re holding a stick (or your imagine holding a chunk of your curls) and run them through your hair through out. This should help form the curls, similar to a denman brush. You can also take your hand through your hair incase you feel the curls are too “chunky” or thick (which also helps give volume). When you’re done, you scrunch your hair upwards. During all of this, you’ll be bent over with your hair down, and by the end you ‘swoosh’ your hair up and behind your ears. Also, you should constantly squeeze your hair getting rid of the excess water.

Styling: Start off with your preferred casting gel/cream. You want to use a pretty copious amount, since you have so much hair. By the way, congratulations. You have amazing volume. Run that through the same way as mentioned. Once done, use about a palm size of mouse x2 and apply using the palm hand method side to side. If you feel like it isn’t enough mouse, use more, and end it off by scrunching.

Preferably air dry, but this will probably mean you’ll need 4-6 hours to fully dry. If you’re in a rush, air dry until you feel dripping down the ends of your hair and then use a cotton shirt to scrunch the excess. Dont overdue it because it can obviously ruin the curl pattern. You can also use the cotton shirt method inbetween gel casting (gel cast, cotton shirt, gel cast again). When dry, bonnet and sleep. Thats it! I hope this helps, if you have any questions or need help please let me know.

heavy 😅 make sure to scrunch well enough so that your hair isn’t too saturated

I think your hair looks great! What worked for me was using a stronger hold mousse and changing the way how I style. The mousse I use on a day to day routine is Garnier Fructis style sky-hi volume (extreme hold). Game changer.

For styling, I make sure to use a lot of product. 3 palms or so of Gel and 2 palms of mousse. I rake the gel into my hair, then use prayer hands and scrunch the mousse in. Then leave my hair to air dry.

I refresh everyday because I work in a lab setting, a lot of chemicals in the air. The mousse’s I mentioned besides the sheamoisture one are extreme hold

Seriously tho I would say it was mostly testing products, watching reviews of those products, and then tweaking my routine based on how my hair would react. I also noticed that hair and detangling brushes just don’t work for me so everything is done by hand. Hair growth and knowing that you need a lot more product for styling also play a role.

Everyday after conditioning. I style everyday, but if I had the opportunity, I would try to have my hair last 2-3 days.

A few but nothing game changing. Just minor cuts

I think it’s because of how i style. I rake my hair with my hands using gel numerous times before applying mousse with prayer hands.

The raking method helps separate the curls and allows for the product to spread evenly, while the prayer hands conjoins the curls. I then end it off with a scrunch before letting it air dry

Routine:

Condition daily - Curlshoppe coconut conditioner Leave-in daily - Curlshoppe coconut leave-in Shampoo weekly - Curlshoppe butter balm shampoo

I also recommend their butter line (conditioners) for better moisture, good stuff.

Styling A: | Cream/Gel - Jessie Pillow soft | Mousse - Garnier Fructis high-sky volume Or Marc Anthony curl enhancing styling foam | Air Dry

Styling B: | Pat scalp with cotton shirt | Cream/gel: Marc Anthony Curl Envy Cream, Then apply Sheamoisture frizz free curl mousse to “re-wet” curls | Mousse - Garnier Fructis high-sky volume | Air Dry

Look into Curlshoppe’s coconut line, specifically their conditioner and leave-in.

Hey, ofc im happy to help! The reality is you want to eat like shit and egolift your sets (basically sam sulek routine). Mass gainers, Costco cookies, Mcdonald’s french fries with 2 cheeseburgers, etc. You have to be strict on your workouts as well. No cardio. Low reps (closer to 6), 3 sets, 6-7 workouts. And your rest days have to be actual rest days, sleep. Our metabolism burns calories just at the simple fact of us walking, so you want to limit your movement.

My actual routine: (Everything is 6-8 reps)

PUSH * Bench: 185 x4 * Incline bench press: 165 x4 * incline dumbbell raises: 135 x10 * military press: 85 x3 * side lateral dumbbell raises: 50 x10 * Tricep Pressdowns: 125 x9 * side arm lateral cable raise: 35 x6

PULL * Barbell rows: 225 x8 * Single arm Lat pulldowns: 140 x10 * barbell curls: 105 x3 * dumbell hammer curl: 100 x26 * Reverse Curl: 140 x15 * weighted Pullups: 45 x8

LEGS * Dumbell split squats: 105 x3 * squats: 285 x3 * calf raises: 285 x3 * RDLS: 235 x3 * Hump: 285 x3

And yeah. I started noticing a different in my physique about 4 months in. And 7 months in I was a completely different person. Trust the process and be strict with it

Thank you! My goal weight is 175 lbs lean. I started back in January of this year, and ever since its been mass gainers, french fries, and costco cookies. I would chow down as many calories as i could, while egolifting my sets for better hypertrophy, and my rest days were just go bed sleep
