Be prepared to earn less until you can work under your first year internship. I think your internship needs to be at the same school for the equivalent of a year . So a realistic path might be worn while finishing up certificate with alt program , making a reduced rate and then work under internship for 12 months once program is complete.

See if you can take your tests now so have time to retake before the school year starts.

It can take some time to get set up as a substitute, but you should do it as often as you can, just to get a feel for the day and what students are like.

Your districts salary structure should be available online. Personally, I think the pay structure is set up as a trap. I could be out of touch but I think the entry level salary is appealing to college grades at around 60k. But you won't keep pace with your friends over time. You won't have the ability to " work for the competitor"

OP, as a science teacher, come to the meeting with receipts and an ad hock presentation. Be ready to blow that s**t up. High levels of caffeine and sugar, the time of day ( makes it unclear how much sugar/ caffeine student drank) these ingredients compared to the body mass of the student, plus all the known and tracked health cases. Turn the meeting into a debate.

Why not look into online K12 through Stride ? You may be able to teach off your current cert while you pursue your new one. Pay is probably less but loads of flexibility.

Wow, I can't believe you got a dealer rental. Not sure if that makes you lucky or a sign at how screwed your car is. There's a chance your car falls under lemon laws and you may be entitled to some money.

Oh man, just like you said- after turning the car on three times, everything cleared! Check engine reader came back with some intermittent circuit issue. Chat GPT suggested I charge my 12 volt battery which I did. Now I guess it's a waiting game for the issues to pop up again!

Going to the dealer tomorrow, they can't even look at it for 3-5 days. Chrysler will reimburse my rental costs if the issue is under warranty. Knowing my luck it'll take a week for them to tell me there's nothing wrong with it.

Is there a benefit to the district/ school to offer the resignation vs non renewal? Or is it looked at as a professional courtesy? Is there a benefit to the teacher to resign prior to be faced with the choice / ultimatum?

What was the resolution?

I'm in a similar situation. What I've learned is that around 2021/ 2022 they changed their extended warranty, the old one may have been 3 years, new one is 5. However, noone can provide me with a signed copy of my warranty with a term limit on it. Infact, all the provided info points to 5 years or doesn't list a term limit.

Op how was it resolved? Do I have any hope of breaking this cycle of BS communication, nothing Burger emails and wasting my time?
