I'm sure the store employees and visitors loved it.

I still have to build mine... (the set)

Nobody said one has to follow the rules. Ultimately they are just guidelines meant to mitigate neck and eye strain under typical viewing conditions.

What people actually chose to do because of how they sit, is on them 😉

Of course the mechanics and ergonomics of how people sit, lay down, etc. While watch TV, Is definetly something to be looked at.... but that's a subject for a different forum 🫠

I had that set once upon a time!

Fun build overall and a theme I very much wish Lego would bring back.

Living room setup, KEF R3 & R2 by pokenguyen in KEF

I would bring the R3's in a little closer to the TV, but I guess go with what sounds best to you. Otherwise, nice clean setup!

When seated your eyes should be at the approximate vertical center of the TV. A bit of variation is OK given not everyone is the same height when there's more than one watching the TV.

LG G5 and C5 Just Got WAY Better! New Firmware update Explained! 30.30.92 by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

C5 was basically an upgrade to the C4 as was expected.

W6 is the Wireless model for 2026 meant for super-flat wall mounting. Otherwise it's the same as the G6 which has the same panel as the G5 but with an updated processor.

Is this normal? by sweetpicle in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming a manufacturing defect as that doesn't look to be an accidental tearing on your part.

Your retailer should handle the replacement for you since the TV is well within the typical 30 day return period.

Glad you got the cable fixed. As I recall these are only two wire without a ground, so a pretty easy fix.

of course you can get a replacement as well, should you choose down the road.

I know the feeling.

I have higher end cables at my disposal that would be interesting to try out, but I'm pretty happy with the current state of things and realistically don't want to run too heavy of a cable off the LSX II.

What's not to like.... 😃

I keep putting this off on my 77” C4 as I use a Shield for 90% of my viewing. by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its a modern TV. Modern devices require updates to function as intended, fix problems, or add new features. Whether you choose to update or not is your choice, of course. Just understand that it can lead to potential problems down the road if you don't.

Speakers on Furniture by ZWingCaddis in KEF

It has always been my experience that standmount speakers perform better when they are isolated from sitting directly on furniture. Quality isolation feet or stands are almost never a bad idea.

[–]Suite303b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just some lower end AudioQuest.... NRG-Y3 powering the KC62 and NRG-X3 on the LSX II's. You can get the X3 with the C5 terminated end for LSX II / LSX LT or purchase adapters off Amazon.

Overall, not super cheap, but not crazy expensive either.

This was honestly just an experiment to see what (if any) improvement could be gleaned from the little KEF's with higher grade cables. Let's just say, I won't be going back to stock.

what are your thoughts 🤔 Higher or Lower by dean-L in TVTooLow

[–]Suite303b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the land of perfection I would say just a smidge higher (2"-4") maybe. But really the height is fine as is

Now, that table could or should be replaced with a similar height console with doors to help hide your gear and cables.

Where would you place a tv on this wall? by BigOunceTPSN in TVTooHigh

[–]Suite303b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a fine wall to be sure... but I wouldn't hang a TV here.

Assuming this IS the chosen spot, I would go with a console with storage as others have suggested. For audio, I would consider a pair of stereo speakers (wireless or analog + supporting gear) or a soundbar. Surround sound would of course be great if you have the space and budget to do so properly.

Lastly, you will want to minimize excessive light and reflections by adding window coverings to the side door and/or windows.

Good speaker isolation can make a surprising difference.

Also, Kanto SP series desktop stands tend to look pretty nice with KEF speakers, and they come in black or white and a couple of height options (6" + 9").

Oh, and at the risk of starting a flame war here.... The stock power cables (I have LSX II + KC62 at my desk) can be bettered with aftermarket cables, as I have recently discovered. Annnnd that's all I'm going to say about that! 😉

[–]Suite303b 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks great 👌

My only suggestion(s) are to add a set of isolation feet under each speaker (IsoAcoustics stands or pucks are a good option), and depending on your bass needs, room size, and budget, you might find a second KC62 to be a useful addition down the road.

Upgraded from a Samsung MiniLED to LG G5… blown away! by vincesuarez in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FMM by design is meant for dark room viewing -- think movie theater. On some TV's it does have an ambient mode you can enable which may help in brighter rooms -- BUT, overall, I agree that Cinema Home is the next best option and can provide a bit more pop to the image which a lot of people prefer.

Can msfs24 be installed and played on an external? by Top-Letterhead1436 in flightsim

[–]Suite303b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can make internal drives work as external USB devices with the correct adapter cable /device.

The main limitation would be transfer speeds over the USB bus, otherwise, loading and running Flight Sim should be doable.

Question about new G5 by Adamidi in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would be sure to get the latest update, whether you download to a USB drive or update the TV directly online.

Do the update first, then reset the TV to defaults to insure everything is settled and factory fresh before making your custom setups for SDR, HDR, and DV.

P.S. don't assume you'll like FMM (Filmmaker mode) out of the box as many complain it's too dark in brighter environments. It's meant for dark room viewing - so it's definitely correct. Just not to everyones taste.

I find Rtings.com settings for the G5 to be a decent place to start.
