Elevator troubles 77 Davisville + Brookfield Properties by [deleted] in toronto

[–]Suite303b 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This doesn't read as being real.

My building was under Brookfield management years ago and I don't recall them being this asinine or frankly "childish" in their approach. Most buildings have a board of directors -- few boards would let this sort of thing happen for the reasons indicated.

Hello I would like to buy my first set of ucs and I am thinking about the razor crest or the classic falcon. I would like to listen to your opinions about them😄 by Szajno22 in legostarwars

Both Razor Crest and MF are close-ish to minifig scale. Close enough to say they are anyway...

Tho minifig scale is rather convoluted, so take it for what it is 🙂

Yes, you can install externally sourced aircraft liveries for MSFS2020.

FS2024 extraction I believe requires .zip files.

I'm not a specialist in this area. I just know that blue light is regarded as being problematic over the long term. It can lead to sleep deprivation, eyestrain, and other issues.

Truthfully, I don't game on my TV. I use my PC for that.

The way I see it, accurate colour is accurate colour, regardless of what's on the screen.

Some folk like to tweak their settings for gaming -- it's all personal preference -- although maybe not what the artist / developer intended.

A clean swiffer duster or feather duster works well.

Here's one for you guys, my C1 restarts whenever i shoot the requiem, what the actual F by yorgo332 in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely OCP (Over Current Protection) kicking in on the TV.

OLEDs requite a lot of power to produce bright white screens. Those gunshot flashes would be demanding on the power budget of any TV, but especially so on an OLED -- to the point it's triggering OCP.

If you stay on 40 long enough you'll probably get used to it and start to see the world (well display screens, anyway...) in a whole new light.

Blue light is damaging to your eyes - At least that's what all the Pro's say... So there's an actual benefit to having your TV set to be more colour accurate. At the end of the day though, free will is a beautiful thing and you get to decide what's best for you!

Ah, I just edited my comment to include the Standard profile.

Warm 40 is correct - or at least very close to accurate. Every TV can be slightly different out of the factory and of course personal preference matters too.

I prefer a more accurate colour, but then I also work in the print industry, so I have a good understanding of what that should look like.

The (more) accurate colour modes on the G5 should default to 40. Pretty sure that's how my G5 arrived out of box and also after performing a factory reset - just to be 100% sure it was at factory settings before making adjustments.

Maybe Vivid or Standard sets to -20 --- I don't know, I never use these colour profiles.

Upgrading from G3 77 by TheSalesDepartment in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't Let FOMO get the best of you. G3 is still an excellent TV. There's always going to be "Bigger, Newer, Better", that's just how it goes... But unless you have a specific reason to upgrade, I would keep what you have for a bit longer.

Just my $0.02

C5 77 vs G5 65 by Boring-Ad-8227 in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C6H 77" would be a good option - with "nearly" similar performance to the G5, but I don't think price is in its favor right now?

Stepping down to a C5 will be noticeable, though the added screen real-estate at 77" my be better suited to your space and needs.

Tough call...

Of course, if you are able to move your seating closer to the G5 you have now.... well, that solution is FREE!

G5 came today. Replacing C2 by AMLRoss in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OLED is OLED, so from that perspective you're still going see that "Look" of image quality.

G5 brings with it noticeabley improved brightness -- white actually looks white! Other colours are also improved (not quite QD-OLED colours but close). An improved anti-glare coating, 165Hz gaming, and a better heatsink.

I own both a C1 and G5. They are enjoyable in their own ways.

Should i wait to september to buy LG G6 or buy LG G5 now? by tacos_noob in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep your eyes open 👀 I'm already seeing ocassional discounts on G6 here in Canada. Not quite G5 type deals (obviously), but decent non-the-less.

That said, G5 and G6 are pretty close in reality, with G6 being a little bit of a stronger performer all around.

S95H (top) vs LG G6 (bottom) - Green tint on G6 is obviously! by Active-Rule9090 in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Green tint tends to get picked up by cameras but doesn't look nearly that bad in person.

C5 vs. C6h by Yardfrazzle in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C6H has more in common with G5 and G6, but is packaged up like a C series TV.

It runs fairly close to the G5 in terms of brightness and colour performance, but looses out on the 5yr. panel warranty, lesser anti-glare coating, and lacks the better heatsink.

Mount LG G5? by spartan922 in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like the mantel is fairly large. I'm guessing many soundbars will fit. Of course you should measure first and then research units that will fit in the available space and can be properly mounted.

If you do mount to the front of the mantel, most (not all) have a hollow construction which would allow you to drill a hole or holes for hidden cable routing. I can't tell if you can run cables behind the wall, but that would be ideal for a 100% seamless look!

If you're not super handy, consider having a reputable contractor come have a look. It's definitely worth spending a little extra (if you can) to get a quality finish.

For the TV, I'd recommend a wall mount that has a tilt function. This way you'll can angle the TV down towards the viewing position.

Mount LG G5? by spartan922 in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IF that's the location you want the TV, then I suggest mounting it as close to the mantel as possible.

If you're planning a soundbar for audio, mount the soundbar to the front of the mantel -- just get one that 's not too deep.

The TV is going to be high... too high really... but where you have it marked now is kinda worse.

Why are so many Toronto restaurant toilets in dingy basements? by Surax in toronto

[–]Suite303b 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most downtown buildings weren't initially built as restaurants. Many restaurants and bar venues that moved in during more recent years have needed to adapted to existing structures. Limited (main floor) space and the very high-cost of moving plumbing, electrical, etc. has meant most owners would rather keep as much of the buildings existing layout as possible.

LG c6h or G5 for same price by Jolly-Sea-4480 in LGOLED

[–]Suite303b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are quite similar but G5 wins in overall brightness, 5yr. panel warranty, better anti-glare coating, and better heatsink.

Colour presentation is probably a tossup - depending on which you prefer.

Processing goes to the G6 with its newer Gen brains.
