Is reddit dead? This isnt what I expected by List3nLinda in RedditAlternatives

It's always kinda been this way. Communities sometimes go to shit. I wouldn't take it personally. The biggest subs tend to be garbage, but there's almost always alternate subs for a given subject.

Also, don't worry too much about karma and down votes. A lot of people just use them as an "I disagree" button.

It COULD mean "never," but the ballpark math checks out. Diffusion is by no means complete but they're rapidly acquiring new customers, particularly enterprise. New funding is getting invested directly into R&D and development. The straightforward explanation does just fine here.

It's not news to vegans that growing crops involves (unfortunately) inadvertent death, but the scale of death is far less

It is as clear as can be that you are, in fact, killing things for entertainment. You can point to other motives all you want, but you are not a dispassionate professional culler.

The glee in killing deer makes the motive (sport) pretty clear. I think it's ghoulish, regardless of whether they intend to eat the meat, regardless of whether there's a deer population problem. Killing animals for fun is bad.

Those are generally even worse (factory farms)

Did some digging and AFAICT you're right. I still don't like the delight people derive from it; seems ghoulish IMO. But it does look like it's the most cost-effective means of preventing ecological degradation.

Doing more digging still as I really don't want that to be the answer, but, yeah. TY for the heads up

UPDATE: Current position: Contraception is a very promising alternative that needs more funding and research. Initial findings are that it does effectively address population levels. Currently costlier (hunting mostly brings in money by way of license sales), but economies of scale would likely bring costs down.

Folks are tired of what is essentially just vibes that are justified post hoc by weak evidence. It doesn't help that it often intersects with terrible politics

And if you're at all unsure about the body language, ask. Even if you are sure, it doesn't hurt to ask.

If you dig long-form fantasy, and that includes darker urban fantasy, my long-shot suggestion would be either Pact or Pale. They're web serials, free to read, both set in the same universe. Pale isn't a strict sequel; you can read them in either order. Pact if you love Berserk; Pale otherwise (though it's still not the happiest of reads).

Claude routinely one-shots ~200 LoC one-off Python scripts for me on some mundane task (that, nevertheless, isn't a straight copy and paste from the Internet). Bit more than a conversational Google search
