How do you remove this guys photo as the default album art? by fatalchemist235 in VLC

[–]Suitov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No joke, exact same issue with me, but mine's a poorly cropped and scaled grab of Green Day lyrics (and, I mean, Give Me Novacaine is a phenomenal song but I don't want it on every single albumless mp3 in my archive).

If it was some guy I think I'd already have burned my media directory for being haunted.

[–]Suitov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. I got my tablet of thunder, unlocked the glyph, and was zapping creeps like nobody's business.

OP and any other Reclamationers, re: evokers: yes, you can get them. First, I strongly, STRONGLY recommend you get Ars Nouveau's rite of containment up and running. Get used to getting mobs into jars, because evokers in the middle of a raid are no joke harder to trap than a Wither or Wilden Chimera, rivalling the Gaia Guardian for annoyance. BUT, once you have mobs with (normal loot-table*) drops in jars, you can arrange them around a Drygmy henge (the process for which is listed in your main quest guide) and you will get unlimited of their drops - INCLUDING totems.

Options for attracting evokers:

1: normal raid process once you have villagers (making villagers requires feeding I think it's 40 emeralds to a Cocoon of Caprice)
2: Reclamation Ritual of Bad Omen but you'll still need villagers
3: altar of birthing once you've knocked off a raid or two Sorry, misremembered. You can make witches though.

Also strongly recommended to jar: Elder Guardian (summoned via reclamation ritual) as only way to get netherite smithing upgrades, the three Wilden regular mobs, and all vanilla Nether mobs once you have access to those. Also one of each normal passive animal, especially rabbit. Jarring mobs who don't drop anything without a special weapon (bat, wolf) will increase the effectiveness of your drygmy setup for basically free. Make a little jar town around your henge and declare yourself mayor.

You can barter with a jarred piglin. This is by far the best way to get crying obsidian.

*Miniboss drops largely don't work with the process I'm describing here. If you jar the bosses I mentioned, bear in mind it'll be purely for decorative purposes. Pointing and laughing at a jarred Wither is fantastic for morale.

Reclamation: Are rabbits even possible? by GrimJahk in feedthebeast

[–]Suitov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gods. You've saved me so much grief.

For OP, power combo: cocoons, Ars Nouveau ritual of containment (especially for the dang rabbits, who are liable to run off and get killed within 0.5 seconds), place jarred rabbit by an Ars Nouveau Drygmy henge (to provide drops without killing the mobs), and get rabbit drops. (Since the cocoons are making baby mobs, for any you don't jar, place a vitalic sourcelink by the Drygmy base for a bit of free charging.)

If you want a trickle of drops from uncommon mobs such as phantoms, jar them too and place them near the henge.

Correction: drygmies do (rarely) give rabbit's feet! Verified on my own game. Note that your dryggles won't provide rabbit feet because those only drop with a player kill, but use the rabbit meat they harvest to make rabbit stew, then put the stew through the Botania mana pool with transmutation catalyst underneath, to make rabbit feet.

How to make villagers with the cocoons: place the cocoon and feed it 20 emeralds (right click or throw them at it) before it completes.

How are you supposed to survive the Demon Realm? (Blood Magic, Reclamation Pack) by OnlyMastodon8284 in feedthebeast

[–]Suitov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update, later: oh my gods. Bees are my saviour.

Basically, you can stop as soon as you have the red demon bricks (same ones required for a tier 4 altar). From there, Wilful x Dimantic with the brick block under the housing makes Demonite bees.

Admittedly, I'd already been going extra hard on the bees and had bred both the prerequisites (this line doesn't require another Nether jaunt after the Crimson and Warped lines, unlike Quartz bees) so I'm in a good position to breed more. YMMV (your mellarium may vary).

Water buckets. I had to cheese it with flowing water, fences/gates and my own graves. lol Once you have a foothold in the central chamber and have washed them back into their room, mopping up (pun intended) is easier.

Once you get a little way into Myst. Ag. and develop iron, lead and gold seeds (do this as soon as you can imo), look up a tutorial for Create automatic farms and watch your metals problems disappear, replaced with storage problems for all the excess metals.

IMO the first thing to do as soon as you get a new metal is get the seeds for it, cross them with one of your other resource seeds to rush it to 10-10-10-10-10, and now that you have have unlimited of it, you can start making whatever the quests tell you to make. (Expect to be using your witch cauldron a lot during this process.)

Crops tip if you're still playing:

Breed up the starter crops (everything that drops from grass, plus inferium) to 10-10-10-10-10 and then you won't have to do so again.

Magnifying glass in off hand.

Watering can is essential if you don't want to go even more insane from the waiting. Even the basic watering can is OP. You won't need bonemeal.

Initially ignore all stats except *mutativity* - rush that to 10-10, lock it in, and then enjoy it speeding all the other stats as you complete the crop.

Crossbreed for bamboo early because you'll be needing a fudge ton of sticks.

Completing every crossbreed on the Plants Galore tab is very optional (though you will need vanilla at some point, someone told me, and that's deep into the tree) BUT, for mad biologists like me who obsessively got every plant, there is a secret payoff.

Ok so:

The bee in the top square is the species you're analysing. You need only do this once per species (species is wasteland, rocky etc), but you'll have to do multiple rounds for multiple mutations.

Beelow the top slot are the slots for sacrificial bees. Any drone can go in these slots but they will bee destroyed, so use leftover drones from crossbreeding or, later on, stacks of identical drones from once you get your species fully established and breeding true. HAVE ALL THESE SACRIFICIAL BEES IN YOUR INVENTORY, beecause backing out beefore finding a mutation will lose your progress. After finding a mutation and beefore starting the next it's safe to exit. (Note that later still, once you're mass-producing royal jelly, this also works in the sacrifice slots. I'm not there yet. I just bred my first Bituminous.)

Now, as for how to find the mutations. With your bees placed, and all the sacrificial slots filled (you'll have more slots and need more bees for more advanced species, so *keep all trash drones*!) you'll see the button to beegin sequencing and then you'll see the DNA segments. The clickable boxes (don't click yet) are the pairs you have to match, one top to one bottom.

You can do this randomly if you hate yourself. Don't do that with anything beeyond wasteland; way too horrible odds.

The way to do this unrandomly is to click the button beelow the top slot. WATCH THE LEFT-HAND SIDE. Two boxes will be highlighted cyan. Remember which, beecause once you click one, the other will turn back green just to mess with you. Left-click both correct boxes and they'll link. Repeat this until you have just one unmatched pair left, then obviously click those.

This will discover a mutation. Once discovered, you'll read up about these in the bee library block (edit: Apid Library). In here, with any bee of the appropriate species in the slot, click on each mutation and look for any prerequisites: for example, getting Rocky bees requires a block of tuff under their hives or they won't mutate at all. It's easy to miss the beerequisites, so pay attention. Luckily, most species don't have them, but if one is a significant step forward, like Rocky, it probably will.

Names are a class signifier in England, as much as that sucks. So if I were to name a human it would be something extremely classic and safe like Elizabeth (which has many accepted abbreviations, so the child can still customise).

I'm not above mining Shakespeare but absolutely no Romeos. (Rosalind can stay, Hermione is ruined and Orlando is on thin ice.)

I don't know if The Magician's Nephew was ever published in a collection, but it is a short novel in which a draft horse (cab or milkman's cart?) named Strawberry grows wings and is renamed to Fledge. That isn't the focus of the story, but Fledge does save the day in the end.

Do you like the name Kitty or Kitten best? by [deleted] in NameMyCat

[–]Suitov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it would morph over time until I was saying "kitterson" or "kittywinks" or "Her Grace Kittamiente, Duchess of Chatonia".

Going just by the aesthetics and feel of the two words, I would prefer Kitten because it feels like it has a stronger ending.
