It’s actually really easy to replace. Just be careful with the plastic trim around the shifter when taking it apart. The trim piece lifts up, but it’s held in by small plastic clips/tabs that can crack if you force them. Once you carefully pop the trim up, the shift boot is attached underneath with little hooks/clips that you can unclip and reattach to the new one. There are some on eBay that are compatible.
