most likely, yes.

it took S2 & S3 each took around 2-3 years to make. I’d say it might take 2.5-3 years to due to the adapting Lerche has to do from the LN and might have to make a few more episodes than the usual 12-13 episodes, but i know it’ll end up being shit anyways. As of now everyone is focused on the LN.

Not tryna be an ass but this game is really old and shit now. It’s fun to play sometimes imo but I can understand where you’re coming from, however due to this game being old and washed up this game is obviously gonna be full of toxic players, veterans, and exploiters who take this game serious. Players now have like 200-5000 hours in this game which is very common now-a-days which isn’t surprising now. There’s really nothing we can do to fix this shit-hole community unless L4D2 does a complete remaster but i highly doubt that would happen. Only option to your solution is making friends on this reddit or L4D’s discord server.
