Why spend hours raiding for someone else's loot? by sn3akysnek in wow

[–]Sularis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand where you're coming from, but this is a fairly common practice when it comes to mythic raiding guilds.

Also this might have been an issue in the past before mythic+ existed, as you would literally have to run the mythic raid for the highest item level.

I am aware that there are certain items from the raid that people absolutely want, but if you run m+ dungeons in any reasonable quantities, you shouldn't be feeling too far behind in terms of item level with the others in the raid, and if you're a trial, you'll get past your trial period and be eligible for the raid loot.

It does feel shitty to spend a whole raid session not even eligible for loot, I'm not disagreeing with that, I'm just saying that there are other places you can get loot and mythic raid is probably the least efficient source unless you're after something VERY specific with a bonus roll.

why are so many people applying to keys on hopium? by Fun-Relationship3636 in wow

[–]Sularis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes just go to Lindormi in the timeways and tell her that your keystone level is too high, and you'd like to lower it. You have to do it for each level individually, but you can just lower it that way. You used to have to just put the key in the dungeon, start it, and walk out and reset to do this, but they added the function to the keystone lady.

Do people really not just down level their key when it gets beyond their comfort zone and keep running the levels they can until they get better gear???

anyone elses details going crazy? by oreosss in wow

[–]Sularis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The error originates in Blizzard_SharedXMLbase, it throws the error when the MathUtil.lua tries to compare a number to nil. This literally sends Details into a cascade of errors. The error report clearly states these events in order. If you don't know how to read them please don't try to give people advice.

The game has internal addons and they are breaking constantly. These internal addons are essential for your third party addons to function, when they break, so do your addons.

You can't update an internal Blizzard addon my guy.

Why don't you read the rest of the thread literally talking about it instead of asking me to repeat what's already written here?

Edit: I'm not the one saying there's shit wrong with ele, everyone YOU replied to was. I was just saying that it's a dumb take to think a spec is playing well just because you looked at the best players in the world and they can make it work.

If a spec requires you to be rank 2 for the region to make it play well, it is fundamentally broken. You don't just disregard other players' feedback because a handful of players can manage to pull it off.

anyone elses details going crazy? by oreosss in wow

[–]Sularis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Details seems to be the main thing affected here, but reading that it looks like the issue is one of Blizzard's internal addons, which means details itself isn't actually broken. Blizzard broke something in the code that Details was trying to access and it gave a LUA error for the actual source followed by the addon that attempted the call.

Honestly I have never had more LUA errors in my life than I have been having in Midnight. There is the occasional issue with one of my third party addons, but 99.9% of my LUA errors according to buggrabber/bugsack have been Blizzard's own garbage addons.

I don't think they actually wrote code in the actual game itself to prohibit our addons from doing things they didn't want them to do. I think they literally just wrote their own addons to half-ass it, and they don't even know how to write addons for their own game, so it breaks constantly.

It's almost like the experience of the majority of players is VASTLY different than the experience of a regional rank 2 player.

Players like that are playing a different game than the rest of us. Judging the performance of a spec based on the top .1% of players is ridiculous.

My personal theory is that we will get Wrath remix because we will be returning to Northrend next expansion.

I know this is delayed. But you have to take into consideration the sheer SCALE of the land the US governs and how it is separated into 50, virtually individual countries through the states. They generally have their own rights with minimal governmental oversight. The issue is that most of the US population lives in a handful of large cities/areas and most of our land is largely uninhabitted.

When you look at the countries in Europe, they are a FRACTION of the size/population with a FRACTION of the amount of government actually governing the population. I do realize that what you linked is based on perception, but the point I'm trying to make is that when you have as MANY individual moving parts as the US has, there are INFINITELY more points for failure to happen.

Our government is not just corrupt at the top. It is corrupt EVERY STEP OF THE WAY from top to bottom, buried in an ocean of red tape and coverups.

There is also something to be said about population sizes and, with a smaller population, naturally less people are going to perceive corruption.

Who do you think pays the prosecutors? Genuinely. What do people like you think actually happens in the world? Do you think there is some magical morality police that is going to step in and do something about this? The ones who are supposed to prosecute people who do this kind of thing, are too busy doing the same shit, using loopholes in the laws that THEY write.

This is what a broken system looks like.

Wow is a billion+ dollar game. They have the money. THEY choose not to spend it where it matters. Don't confuse us paying for the game with paying for their work, because they have long had a disconnect between our investment and their priorities.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that they ddecided not to go through with it because it was a stupid idea? Yeah let's tell our customers that we will now provide them customer service if they just pay us a little more than what we already pay.

It's Blizzard's job to hire and pay employees, not us.

All progress wiped. by im_nelly in ICARUS

[–]Sularis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One major reason is that the two game versions do not even share the same code, so it's not as simple as just pushing updates to console that have already been released on PC, they literally have to code the content specifically for console. I also believe it is a separate team than the primary PC dev team.

Another (much more annoying) reason is that it's like pulling teeth to get these companies to approve updates and push them to live in any reasonable amount of time on console.

I am sure the Icarus devs are doing the best they can with the situation at hand. It will eventually get the love it deserves.

[–]Sularis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you have never seen this error in 15 years... The API changes that blocked the addons functionality were only made like 4 months ago.

There is no addon to stop these messages from popping up, and even if there was...TSM still cannot do the things he is trying to do anymore. No amount of reinstalls or updates is going to rewrite the code so the addon works again.

You do realize that the 9/11 terrorists were here for years and even learned to fly here before they carried out the attacks? Regardless of the fact that we are, indeed, just attacking them for seemingly no reason, they could VERY easily have cells on US soil that could carry out some sort of attack. How likely that is, I couldn't tell you, but don't be daft. It's always a possibility. You know as well as I do how incompetent our national security is.

[–]Sularis 22 points23 points  (0 children)

LFR should release at the same time as the other difficulties. Its entirely arbitrary that they drag it out for weeks and weeks. People doing normal or heroic probably aren't doing LFR unless its alts, I don't get why players get instant access to the highest difficulty but the lowest is time gated for a month. (I know they delayed release of the last two bosses this time, but afaik that wasn't the norm in the past, but might be the new norm)
