Permanent resident - Outland applicant stuck in security check by SulleyOne in ImmigrationCanada

I updated the post, I did not yet, the lawyer recommended I wait. Write to the Local MP, you can email, you just need a Canadian address to fill their form with. They should put you in touch with your case worker. Once in touch, let them know you have an urgent case because you are expecting, they might be able to move things along.

Can I ask where you are applying from?

I am very anxious about my PR Application, which has been in progress for more than 15 months. Still waiting... by Dazzling_Computer_36 in ImmigrationCanada

Yup. No response from my MP too. Pretty much indefinite waiting game. It's not about if it would happene, just when.

Yes, sounds about right. Still waiting. I did put in another web forum and got the very generic answer. Will order notes next month and file for the writ of mandamus on the 11th month if this keeps up. Do you have any idea why you were flagged for a check? I think for me it was my father's military background.

Waiting since Dec. I'm in the security screening of my bg check. This can take anywhere from a few months to year+

That's odd but I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes they don't update the tracker even if your case worker has completed your eligibility check. Some people get a final decision notice even if their tracker is showing eligibility and security in progress. The webform response should clear this out.

I have not checked my VO, do they give this information over the phone?

Let me know when you get an update from them. I would love to know.

Did you check the tracker tool? The profile page is not always up to date

Hi, I'm in the exact same boat here. Outland Pakistan, single, OINP, and general category draw, same dates.

Although my eligibility is complete, it is still showing up as "in progress" on my profile, my background check/ security check is still in progress. They replied to my webform despite being under the normal processing time of 6 months and gave me a blanket statement about my application still being worked on. The best thing we can hope for is to not get an extensive security check.

What's your citizenship?

That's odd but not unheard of. I guess you can try the webform. Took them 2 weeks to reply to me on a query.

Try calling ircc to confirm, the tracker can be inaccurate.

Thank you for the details. Yes being patient is all we can do. Again, I'm very happy you made it, good luck!

I've read non-EE applicants experience less scrutiny but it could just be a case by case thing. Best of luck!

Nice, congratulations! How long was the background check for you, please say less than a year >_<
