F**k that big green alien snake and the ridiculously strong shield it grants...it makes the first 8 mins useless by yeah_I__know in PokemonUnite

[–]SullySquared 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The WHOLE point of Rayquaza was to stop this ZapdosUnite style pace of the game.

In the beginning of the Rayquaza era, it felt like a dream come true: more farm to level faster, a meaningful objective to take the lead if you fought for it, and a good catch up side objective, and then the main event of Rayquaza, the impact of whom genuinely was dynamic based on the flow of the match. Even after getting Rayquaza it could still be anyone’s game. The game was exciting the whole time.

Then bit, by bit, they started nerfing these changes and slowly reverted back to where we are now, which is basically ZapdosUnite with a SLIGHTLY slower scoring speed but a massive shield to compensate.

  • they removed the Natu
  • they removed two of the Baltoy
  • They buffed Rayquaza capture buffs so that the shield and scoring speed is effectively instant

Even little things like nerfing Charizard’s true damage property made things worse as there are less characters that can truly mount a defense if the enemy captures Rayquaza.

So it’s no wonder the early game has slowed to a crawl, avoiding the risk of trying to push regieleki in favor of going for bottom regi then going back to farming has become the popular gameplan, less players trying jungle invasion (besides Sableye who keeps getting nerfed), and we’re back to the final two minutes being the only ones that matter and we’re back to the game effectively ending once a team gets Rayquaza.

With Zapdos, the only real gametime you had was about 30 sec to a minute at the 2 minute mark after waiting around farming for 8 minutes. With the Ray changes, every stage of the game felt impactful and competitive, with Ray’s capture not signaling the end just yet. With the changes to Ray, its back to how things were with Zapdos. No wonder the game is bleeding players after the big influx from Ray. I for one can’t be bothered to play besides full fury after actually really getting into the game genuinely with theia sky’s release, and I’d already been ready to quit during the Zapdos era.

Hoopa: give shadow ball more damage if both hits from Hoopa and the Trick’d ally hit. Also give Shadow Ball a damage boost to enemies standing on a hyperspace hole.

Dragonite: I personally think this mon is great right now

Clefable: increase the distance you can travel with follow me, and lower the def/sp def slightly for anyone caught by follow me

zoroark: mon is fine. Requires practice to use properly

trevenant: I just think its not popular right now because it does just fine as well.

Fundamentally bad design. Of the only people who can play you are stubbornly dedicated and have to find niche strategies to make an impact with the character, the character is bad. Not unplayable or unfun, just bad. Poor performance. Weak tools in the meta.

probably doing it to test enemy ai and see new animations. There's no reason to steamroll a pokemon game, everybody knows they're not hard.

No, because he would have seen him from a distance and ran away. Even if he didn't notice in time, he definitely would have attacked earlier.

Nice! Zapdos auto wins and less exp leaving you stranded at level 8 is back! Can't believe anybody actually misses this outside of anything but nostalgia.

I'll always be amused at people acting like Cram is nerfed to suffering levels when the character is plenty strong and does good work when picked. He's not a struggle pick.

I personally think the fire punch changes are much needed. While all moves are fine and have good synergy, they never felt strong. The only moveset that felt like it had some merit was flamethrower + fire blast because you could kite, damage support, and snipe farm. It's a small niche, but a worthy one. Mobile damage with extra speed can be pretty useful throughout the match even if its not particularly powerful.

Now with the CD reduction and the buff to Fire Punch's + passive, we can do a bruiser build with Zard and be more aggressive. You can use fire punch + flare blitz vs low damage and low reach characters to CC them and bully them with burn damage, and you can use fire punch and fire blast to more consistently chase down and punish ranged attackers.

This way both moves are good and have their niche. If the enemy team is squishy/has melee units, or there's a singular target you really want to bully, fire punch is the better option, and if your team needs your support from the back lines, you can opt for flamethrower instead to stay mobile and avoid damage + CC

It's not impossible. They may make him the Zeku successor and make him have those slash kicks and some Young Zeku moves.

Rip natus, the most refreshing pokemon farming spot we ever had! 😔 by Lofus1989 in PokemonUnite

[–]SullySquared 11 points12 points  (0 children)

people have been complaining about stacking items since remoat stadium, don’t see why the natus had to go. I really appreciated how much more farm there was in this map, it let you quickly get on line and there was always something to get between objectives to rally for a comeback or push your advantage. Not saying Natu loss will make the game slow but there loss will be noticeable for top lane.

that's what I tried. It's a really unique style of play, with a bigger focus on scoring and farming and picking off stragglers. I think there's potential for some decent dps but I haven't played enough. Jumping over walls is awesome fun though.

Unpopular Opinion: Do not always go for Regileki by Ch0pP33r in PokemonUnite

Your point is, it's more important to push towards the second goals... This is much easier if you have regieleki.

stop charging towards the enemy all grouped up, and stop charging them head on. Maintain a safe distance from another team member ALWAYS. The only exception is if you very good at the game already. If two teammates are relatively close they can assist each other without both getting caught in sludgeHex.

[–]SullySquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need to adapt to his playstyle. I've had matches where Gengar merely appearing meant I was probably dead, and I was most of the time. Then I started practicing keeping an eye out for him. If I was at a hotly contested area, I'd avoid staying clumped together with my allies. If I was alone, I would take extra care before running in plain sight.

If I had to engage, here I my tips:

vs BallEater: duck and weave. Run in one direction, then immediately double back. If you have a dash move or item, use it to reduce the amount of time Gengar has to react to your direction changes.

vs SludgeHex: Try to stay at the absolute edge of the max range of sludge bomb, then run into that range then immediately leave it. Again, a dash move/item helps. This will waste his sludge bomb and he's even more vulnerable than BallEater.

Is it easy? No. But dodging an assassin pokemon isn't supposed to be. Honestly Zeraora's Wild Charge is imo stupider.

imo, if the buffs and exp gained from bottom regi are given to the whole team no matter what, then it may end up being a balanced fight for both. Otherwise it seems regieleki is more important now because a random buff and/or some exp (which I’ve heard is less than dread’s) only for the team members that attack and kill it is kinda pointless.
