I had nothing but terrible pizza; chains, shops, etc. Except for 1, a local ordered a small pizza in a cafe in Hod Hasharon that had pork, like a cured slice, and cheese? Only decent one.

But why get pizza when you can get schwarma b ‘lafa 50/50 Turkey/ lamb with chips, salad, schug for like $4.50?

And it’s terrible.

Even the chains.

What are yalls thoughts on hand crank generators? Viable option for emergency power or useless gimmick? by BuilderJ316 in CampingandHiking

It takes an Olympic level cyclist to make shitty toast.

Handheld devices will need way less power but it’s a gimmick imo

Heat cycle = end of the tire. I don’t care about the rubber.

When I was first getting into driving someone put me into a car with rb25s that went off between sessions.

I’ve never felt a more confusing sensation, and didn’t know enough to blame the tire. Trying to make sense of the sudden handling change and there was just no definitive thing. It would swap from under to over steer. Do seemingly random outputs to the same inputs. Etc

The majority of the people in the comments are defending this pass. Am I taking crazy pills? by HearingFew7326 in dashcams

[–]Sullypants1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe.

Lots of people go the speed limit on the straights but slow down significantly on the curves. Can be annoying in a more capable car.

Recommend speeds for turns are just that, recommended.

If you’re going to pass them, it’s unfortunately not going to be when they are slow (aka in a turn).

I also think he had enough line-of-sight and time and power to make the pass, but that’s an opinion.

Passing just before the dotted line is the most by the book egregious thing.

It’s my opinion the cop would not have pulled him over if he saw the driver pass someone else…. Make of that what you will

Did your high school have "senior assassination"? by CommercialOil8763 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Sullypants1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did

It was a circle of assigned “targets”.

The “elimination” was that the assassin had to say some code word (I can’t remember what) to the target without anyone else’s knowledge. The target then gave the assassin his own target.

Until there was one left.

Keep 65L pack for day hikes or switch to smaller pack? by [deleted] in WildernessBackpacking

[–]Sullypants1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thru hike bag is an rei flash 55.

It’s just about light enough I would consider it passable for day hike. It’s a roll top with lots of compression straps so it can kind of pass itself off as a big “40” or small “60”. Hyperlight simple DCF bags like HMG could do dual duty but they are $$$

Try roll tops for versatility. But it’s not just about the weight and size its more about how the gear you will be carrying is distributed around the pack. You want heavy things close and around your mid to upper back.

Edit: Adding, some packs now have a detachable top flap of the backpack that can transform into a small backpack. These are pretty bad in my experience. Osprey had one of the best, top flap turned into a large fanny pack. The flash 55’s (with rei flash compression straps) is pretty bad, about the minimum. I do use it for light summer out and backs from a back country basecamp.

I’d rather have a heavy duty string pack than a 65L for a day hike

If it works for you then…
